I call mine blue even though it is sort of a grey color? With a blend of light yellowish red around the head, shoulders etc. along with the white of course? Wayne
hey turn left,hows it goin,i just seen this a couple of months back on a litter.i was lookin at.they call them blue beagles.the guy that had them is out of ravenna,ohio.i believe his name is harry south.you should contact him,for more info.i think i seen him advertizing a blue male just the other day.on puppies forsale.contact him,he's agood guy. bmcf

Bev you are right. The top is a blue (dilute of the black gene). The bottom is a lilac (Dilute of the brown(chocolate)) gene which is also a dilute of the black gene. AKC only allows the code for blue on both pups as there is no option for lilacs.

Here is what mine looks like, I call him White River Blue Smoke. He is out of White River Tuff E Nuff. He is seven months old and starting to put the smoke on my older dogs.
