Re: Best Electronic Collar
i have owned two sportdog systems. wetland 2000 and 2500. i like the 2500 alot better because not only the range is much better but it seems more durable. all collars can be used on both units so i upgraded to the 2500 and can still use the old collars. The one thing i hate on the 2500 is that if you go above three collars you have to shock dogs in pairs. what im saying is that you cannot shock a single dog or use the tone function independantly with three or more hounds. but the price is cheaper then tritronics but tritronics is top of the line if you can spare the cash. Hope this helps

Re: Best Electronic Collar
If you are talking about the Pro 2500 you can go up to 6 collars but loose the tone after 2 collars

Re: Best Electronic Collar
I started to purchase the 2500 pro instead of g2 trashbreaker. Are you serious about not being able to shock each dog seperately? I was thinking about gettin the 2500 when my pack gets bigger.Lawsonsbeagles wrote:i have owned two sportdog systems. wetland 2000 and 2500. i like the 2500 alot better because not only the range is much better but it seems more durable. all collars can be used on both units so i upgraded to the 2500 and can still use the old collars. Re: Best Electronic Collar
as far as i know you do. maybe someone on here has ran that many collars on the 2500 and can give us a definate answer. i like the pro 2500 because of the ease of operation but ive never owned a tritronics to compare it to. the collars have lasted about four years but are starting to fail especially the tone. but the new ones i have seem to be better built.

Re: Best Electronic Collar
WITH THE 2500 IT IS A 6 DOG AND CAN SHOCK ALL 6 SEPERATE IT IS WAY MORE DURABLE AND THE COMPANY IS WAY BETTER TO DEAL WITH CANT GO WRONG WITH A LIFETIME WARRENTY
LETS SEE A TRITRONICS COMPARE TO THAT

Re: Best Electronic Collar
I wouldn't own nothing but a Tri Tronics. Sure it may cost a little more but well worth it to me. To each there own! I have owned my six dog system for 4+ years and have had nothing but good luck with them.. My hounds are ran 4-6 times a week year round!!

Re: Best Electronic Collar
I just bought a sportdog 1800 last year, first one that I have owned, but so far so good. I do like tha lifetime warrenty. I have had Tritronics in the past with coon dogs, and they were good also. just like the warrenty.

Re: Best Electronic Collar
I am a big fan of SportDog Ecollars.........but discovered recently that the "Lifetime Warranty" is a joke............When told to breakdown collar in seperate pieces to send in to them when the replacement cost is just $20 less than to buy a brand new one without all the hassle......yea "Lifetime Warranty".

Re: Best Electronic Collar
I owned Sport Dog And Tri-Tronics. My opinion is that the sport dog didn't come close to the tri-tronics with quality and range. The sport dog was undependable. Just would not shock sometimes. Whether it was me or the collar I don't know, but I don't have that problem with the tri-tronics. My buddy owns a dogtra, and he says when he can afford it he is going with another tri-tronics system. Like they said, more money, but well worth it. Get what you pay for. Just my 2 cents worth.

Re: Best Electronic Collar
Side by side up close the tri tronics will give a bigger shock but out to any distance tri tronics just does not have it, I hunt LP 15" females on hare and use the pro 2500 best money I ever spent. My buddy has a new tri tronics and runs his hounds on my system as his will not reach out like mine. I have actually shocked one of my buddies by mistake when picking up the hounds at better than 3/4 miles. I could barely hear him hollering don't shock the dog don't shock the dog as he got closer to me. He had her in his arms and his hand was to close to the collar, opps.
