New Above Ground Pen i'm going to.Take a look.

Post by PLATEAUBEAGLER »

Take a look at my new Above ground pen i'm building for all my pens. It's not quit finshed got to add a few minor things like gutter clean out and flooring, along with sloped wash down pan for center, and center piece for roof slope, but it seems to work real good and the hounds love it, plus there are rubber matting all under pen for easy wash down to. Do ya think i went alittle overkill when they say go above ground?LOL
Oh well got hardly nothing in flooring and all is pressure treated in the flooring, would have cost more to build smaller fenced above ground pens that i got in all of this, and it works better.
Let me know what ya think.

Thanks for all the comments from all. like i said i'm stilll working on it so it's going to have a different pitch on th roof, i also have plans to put sometype of flooring, just haven't made up my mind yet, but underneath, i placed all rubber matting down,so all that is washed down in the middle and sides of pen can be washed to the back so i can shovel up waste and makes cleaning very easy, along with a sloped pan in center, that when washing down the inside it makes it possible to just flow to back, into another catch tray. When i get it all completed i will send more pics, but as a price factor you can build this very cheap or cheaper than a standard above ground with you doing all the work and let me tell ya the hounds love this better the other 4x8 above grounds, and can run and romp.

the questions on the feeders and waters i really like them i only have to add to them maybe every 7 days, which they are still a 1/4 full, but i fill them anyway, but for the first couple days your hounds will eat a lot,but once they figure out they can eat when ever they want they just pick at the food, and the waters is great, nomore cleaning buckets,if the bowl gets food or trash in it just blow it out with a water hose and it's clean,it's that simple, but be sure to wire all feeders to the pen at top and bottom so your beagles wont be able to jump on or chew on them, i wire them at top and bottom and this makes them really sturdy.

As for the price on feeders, just keep your eyes on the sells, Wal- Mart run sells on them often and you can pick them up for about 10.00, TSC prices are 21.00 everyday Wal- Marts price everday is 13.98, so do some compairing before you go get some, who knows you maybe able to beat the 10 bucks price especially this time of the year, everything is on sell like that, when you find them do as i did and buy a couple extra never know when you may get the urge to buy another hound or run off another litter.
