e-collar comparison
I am looking to buy a e-collar and have narrowed it down to two. The Dogtra 1800nc or the Tri-tronics 70 G2. I would appreciate any advice you could give me.
Thanks

I have had a few different kinds including Tritronics, but I just bought the dogtra and love it. I really like just using the page,(vibration) without shocking, once you page the dog and he does not mind you, then you can nick( just a little shock) him, then if he or she still does not mind you, then comes the shock of his life.
My dogs have learned in a hurry to do what I tell them when I just page them. I am sold on the dogtra.
Good luck

Ive run a tritronics multi sport 2 dog system and it worked fine......what I didnt care for was the battery life in cold weather was terrible. I just picked up the Dogtra 4 dog system and I'm not happy with it at the moment at all. Ive had one collar go down and has to be sent away to be repaired. Dogtra's customer service sucks as well. I call with a problem I wanna talk to a technician not to a secretary who cant tell me anything other than send it in. The battery life in the cold seems to be much better than the tritronics was however and when the system works right I like it......but it isnt.
It's not that life is short......it's just that we're dead for such a long, long time...

I know there are a lot of difference in opinions on shocking collars. I can tell you i run Tri Tronics for almost 20 years and they are a good product.
I changed to Dogtra approximatly 3 years ago and love them.
Nor the next time you have any problem with Dogtra's service give me a call or e-mail me and we will take care of thing.

I just bought a G2 classic 70 3 dog. the first time i used it the one collar didn't work. i wasn't to impressed with them right then, but the people at tritronics worked hard to make it right. they sent a replacement collar 2nd day air. so i'll have to see about the dependabilty (sp) but their service is very good.

Tri-tronics
I have a 6 dog Classic 70 G2, and like it real well.
It seems like you can't hardly run the batteries down at all. I have left them in the cold for 3 weeks, and run dogs 3-4 times a week, and they keep on going without charging.
I did notice that previous models did run down faster in the cold.

Tri-Tronics for me!
I've NEVER had a problem with my collars. Range seems very good. I like the new changes they've made on their system too.
Someone (wasn't me...long story) lost my transmitter to my 3 dog system, and after looking high and low I finally decided to order another one. The customer service at Tri-Tronics was exceptional, and I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I could replace the transmitter and the holster for under 200 bucks. I think I'll be sticking with what works.

I have been using a 4 dog Dogtra system for two years and like them a lot. I have never had better control over my hounds...
