How much are the tickets to see Redticks pro dogs run, just tell us where and when. My wife can cook up some Sourtick Crow Pie and we can have a good time !!!! Jmurphy are you sure you want to put your hounds down with Reddicks pro dogs? Maybe Swing can join and his TRASH HOUNDS can lead the way. LOL

Yeah I want to compete with ole Hootdoggy every chance I get.So far every time (and every time is only twice) I have competed with him I have finished ahead of him.If I run with him enough eventually he will beat me,particularly if he is allowed to carry the scorecard..I dont think my dogs are superhounds by any stretch of the imagination.There are plenty of folks on this board who probably have better hounds including ole Swing.My point with ole Hootdoggy is that if he is gonna run his mouth then he ought to be willing to back it up.I also have a problem with all the lies he tells.He likes to distract folks and say I am defending ARHA.I am not likely to defend ARHA.There are actually things Hootie and I agree on.If a dog is not able to circle a rabbit then to me it isnt much of a dog.Even though I dont compete in PP,that is one of the things about it's rules that I really like.Before a dog can be certified as a champion it must circle a rabbit by itself.I think that is great.I am not trying to knock any format but ole Hootie is awful misleading in the info he gives out.The simple truth is that even in the Hound and hunter format you can have a dog win a cast or even a hunt and still not be able to circle a rabbit.Ole hootdoogy says he doesnt place much value on a hounds ARHA champion titles.That is another area where he and I agree.I dont think you should place much value on any title from any format.The title doesnt make the dog great.The dog makes the title great.I will use Lynn Perkin's Lucy dog as an example because I know he will understand and wont take offense.Lucy is an ARHA grand.Getting to be a grand takes a lot of work.However what truly makes that hound great is her ability to run a rabbit.I plan on getting a pup hopefully from her some day.I dont want a pup from her because she is a grand or because she placed at the Little World two years in a row.I realize those are great accomplishments.I have never placed at the Little World.However the reason I want a pup out of her is because she is a hell on wheels rabbit dog.If I didnt have a lot of respect for her abilities then I wouldnt want something out of her regardless of her accomplishments.So ole Hootananny and I are in agreement in that aspect.But here is the problem,he goes off the deep end the other way.He likes to put down hounds because they have those titles.He even sometimes says that an ARHA title is a reason to not own a hound.That is as stupid as breeding to a dog just because it does have a title.Mooredog I realize you didnt ask for all of this from me.However I was off sick today and had been giving a lot of thought to what titles mean to hounds and what hounds mean to titles so I thought I would just use this opportunity to throw it on here.In a better answer to your question.I will just about go anywhere to run(even with ole Hootdoggy)if there is a pie involved.Even a sourtick one.lol

jmurphy you are right, bringing the rabbit around is all that matters to me. i have not field trialed ,just rabbit hunted .I went to one field trial and the dogs were hammering , had a great time ! My problem with the" Tick" is he is always bad mouthing everything any style any format anytime. If you do not enjoy trialing QUIT. I had a great time at the trial, as soon as my pups are big enough, i'll try my hand. But i will go to enjoy the hounds not talk my way into a field champion.

moredog, you are incorrect. I do have my opinions about various competition formats but not all of them are negative. If you will read the posts, all some folks do is badmouth me and I have never said anything about them or their dogs. Please read the posts.
I am into dogs that have to circle the rabbit and it is seen before plus points are given. I don't have a lot of value for formats that plus the dogs on any track, whether it is a rabbit or not. My dogs are not perfect, they draw some minus points but they usually end up with more points to the good than other dogs in the cast do. Not always though.

I enjoy UKC HH format the most, but I gotta' say the fact that you have to see the rabbit to plus the points sometimes hurts a good gundog. How many ukc casts have you been on where the dogs are doing a fine job on a rabbit, circle it a couple times, even three or four times, but due to terrain, lazy cast, thick brush, whatever.....the cast never sees the rabbit so points can't be plussed. Why should the dogs get punished? What did they do wrong? Why shouldn't their work be rewarded?

Your "just hunting" is the ultimate format.It is the test of what makes up a rabbitdog. Forget all the talk about plus or minus points.When you hunt the rabbit must be seen to be harvested .A dog doing it under the gun is what its all about.It sounds like you have a great attitude concerning trialing.As long as your primary reason to be there is having fun then you are almost guranteed to enjoy yourself.Of course you appraisal of the ole Hootananny goat is correct .You will always hear more negative from him than positive.He doesnt know much about hunting rabbits as by his own admission he only kills enough rabbits to "claim his dogs are gundogs.Thats why he talks about plussing points rather than killing rabbits.
Ole Hootgirl only seems to be in a good mood if he gets his way or if he has his silk underwear on and they arent in a wad.He likes to claim that some folks only attack him but of course refuses to address the issue of him not answering questions about anything even if it is on topic.He is right, there are some folks who he cant say anything about there dogs since they have beat him(even at his home club on the bench,something he specializes in and has been doing for a long time), and he has never been able to beat them. I have a sneaking suspicion that it really bothers him that the dog that has beat him is one of those worthless 100 yard ARHA dual grand champions and has also one a UKC world qualifier in the field,Something I dont think ole Hootdoggy has ever done.I reckon that burns ole Hootie up.I bet he goes out and buys another champ.As usual I continue to laugh at him because he is so pathetic.I am sure glad he does not read my posts as this one may make him angry.

yeah Swinger I know the posts you are speaking of.He said that his pups were rarely born with dewclaws and then turned around in a few days and said his pups were never born with dew claws.Later he said something about dew claws being against the beagle breed standard and when Southern Beagles reminded him that they were not against the beagle breed standard he tried to claim they were in some registries.Of course Southern ended up making him look like a fool because he was wrong about that too.So of course being ole Hootie he tried to give some bs excuse about how his personal standards were often higher than a registry's breed standard.He ended up claiming he had sold the Star dog because she had dew claws.I remember wondering at the time why he would have bought her in the first place if he had a problem with her having dewclaws.Of course you realize that this is the same dog that he came on this board and said he had sold her at a big loss because she was trashy and gunshy.I guess that blows his theory of buying the best bitches money can buy out of the water.Of course he started out on here saying he wouldnt identify who he got her from and then turned right around and did.Ole hooty is sure something.You are going to love this next thing.I am in the process of doing some background work on ole hootie.I have found out some interesting things already.Turns out that my wifes family lives only about 70 to 80 miles from the Hootananny.So far this has helped me and I expect it to help me even more when I go up that way .
Now on to more serious issues Swing.I am really having a problem with the signature you are using at the bottom of your posts.It says Hootie is unprofessional.I realize he conducts himself as a fool on these boards Futhermore I realize that he is probably the absolutely last person that that PKC wants representing them in a public forum.Yes I even realize that he is an moron .However he has plainly said on this board that he is a professional squirrel hunter.If you dont believe he said it you can look it up.I looked up the word professional(my friends told me to.They wouldnt buy that I was a professional bowler because Hootie said so)and I guess that means he makes his living at it.Thats what being a professional means.I hear they are using those squirrel tails for making trout flys and other stuff.I wish you would respect his position and not say he is unprofessional in your signature.I will expect this to be removed very quickly or I will be filing a lawsuit.You have been warned!!!Thank You

Hey guys I know ya'll don't know me but I can't stand to see all these post so negatively. I have always been taught to keep my mouth shut and stay out of everyone business. But I think this might pertain to me in some ways.
All this arguing does not do any good and only harm & hurt feelings can come from it. I was always taught "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."
We as sportsmen should be backing and helping each other and not bashing each other. Our sport of beagling (Hunting in general) is in more trouble than ever. There are thousands of people in this world that had just as soon see us go away and (save the poor animals). All of you as well as I know what we do is very important to our wildlife & ecosystem.
What happened to the good ol days of just going out with the dogs and friends and enjoying each other's company. Even if you don't like someone that should be put aside for the integrity of sporstmen.
There are many field trialk formats out there. Personally I have only hunted 3 times in a field trial.(PP ARHA) I don't know if this is the best format or not. Don't care!!! I had a good time with MY 12 YEAR OLD SON and some really nice guys at the beagle club. My dog did not win a trophy and bet nobody even remembers my dog. But on Saturday morning when I go rabbit hunting with my dogs & my son that is more than enough trophies to last me a lifetime. Hey we even kill a few rabbit's too. (Imagine that, a dog that didn't even place at a field trial but you can enjoy that dog, your son and have a little meat for the dinner table too.
The moral is: Stop arguing with each other, start working with each other and get kids involved in hunting & fishing. Enjoy the hunt & the company because if you keep working against each other you will not have anything to work for before long. As long as you work against each other it threatens my future of the sport and therefore you do effect me by the unsportsmanlike conduct that you exhibit towards each other.
If any of you are ever in Georgia come hunt with me. The only rules I have is you must be safe, courteous & be willing to laugh and have a good time.

I will tell you my friend that you are 100 percent right.It is obvious by what you say and how you say it that you took some time with your post.You probably did not want to offend but wanted to get out there what you believe is important.I respect that and after reading your post 3 times I see nothing I would even try to argue with.I often say that hunters,sportsmen,trialers,beaglers,etc spend alot of their time polishing their armor(sp?) and fighting each other while the antihunters work well with each other.Pretty similar stuff to what you are saying.Like I said your post doesnt offend me even though I think you are right on the mark,my posts included.Having said that I will tell you why I am not willing to stop.It doesnt mean I am right or that I shouldnt stop.It is only why I am not going to.I have watched this guy for 3 years now.He has put down all kinds of folks and has done the same to their hounds.He has no regard for the truth.He says what he wants as long as it fits his agenda regardless of the the lack of truth in his statements.He also has no regard for who he hurts.He says he is here to debate anjd discuss but will never address another's point or question if it doesnt sduit what he is trying to push.He also acts in a very condescending way towards others calling them amateurs and implying they are somehow less than he is.He also brags on his supposed successes and talks about what an accomplished breeder he is while at the same time belittling others.He does this on many boards and tends to be despised wherever he goes.I could be the better person and sit back and say nothing.That is what many friends and my Dad say I should do.I am not going to.I am sick of his crap.So if I have to act the fool like he does then I am going to do that rather than let him say what he wants and tell his outrageous lies.Does this make me as bad as him?Probaly so.He will not answer a legitimate question.Everything is a personal attack if it doesn't fit his planned agenda.Since he wants to put down other folks,formats and hounds then you can bet I will continue to post what I want to him.Regardless of what he says he reads every post of mine and hates them .He wont answer legitamate questions so that is pretty much what I am left with.I can tell you that it is only going to get worse.He really pissed me off with his little threat to sue so I am currently doing a pretty extensive background check on him.Regardless of his claims of having many friends I am not finding many and I can tell you that I am finding plenty of folks that both know a lot about him and despise him.He will not be happy with the things I am going to reveal.Is what I am doing stupid?You betcha but I am gonna do it anyway.Does this mean that I am putting my own distaste for him ahead of being a good sportsman.Probably so.So while I appreciate your position and dont think you are wrong in the least I will continue to do what I am doing.I apologize that it bothers you and probably others.I am just not willing to set back and listen to his crap.I will tell you in advance that if this sort of thing bothers you then you will not want to read any of my posts on any thread that he is involved in because basicly all my posts will be the same.Sort of how he does things.If you will go thru my profile and click on my posts you will find that this is not how I usually relate to most folks but this is how I will relate to him forever both on the boards and when we see each other in person.Thanks for your post.

Eddie.I wanted to address one of your statements.You mentioned trying PP and not knowing if it was the "best" format.The best format is whichever one you enjoy the most whether it is ARHA,UKC.PKC AKC or one of the others if there are others.try a bunch of them and find the one you enjoy the most.

And the lies keep coming. Folks, there are a couple of fellows that are posting nothing but lies about me. Just pure lies. Example, Swing saying I sent an order for one of his videos. That is just a pure out and out lie. Swing may have a good video, I don't know. I don't care. I didn't order his video. I never have, I never will.
I don't read JMurphy's posts anymore but his previous ones were full of lies. I have never spoken about anyone's dogs or any person. I now find myself lowering myself to these 2 guys's standards unstead of trying to keep a higher standard of posts.
