Bev, I sorry to hear about your dog passing away. Most all of us can understand your sorrow during this time. It's something that we all go through owning and loving these hounds. It doesn't get any easier no matter how many of them pass on. But I know that I would rather say that I got a chance to love them, than not to had loved them at all. Cherish the memories and photos. God bless.

I am so sorry to hear that Bev. My heart is with you. I hate that you have to go through that. As you know we lost our first beagle this year. Same story as Warddog. But just like you I have many memories. He also left me something behind, a bad knee!
You know a few years back I had problems with the dogs sneaking out of the kennels together and going hunting (two to be exact). Well fat buddy ran out on me in the dead of winter. Icey as hell. I went to chase him and fell down the hill. I landed on my knee and then flipped on my back. Knocked the wind outta me. I figured that dog took the opportunity to be long gone. He knew I was mad, cussing all the way. I closed my eyes, layed there and caught my breath. I looked over to my right and there were those big brown eyes looking at me. He flopped on his back, laid beside me, and thumped his tail. What a suck up, Who could be mad after that! LOL! Until that time that old dog would never put his belly up!
