coyote hunting

Post by Big Mike »

What's the best Gun and ammo for hunting Coyote's in Ohio ? Would be calling, not running them with hounds, if that makes a difference. Thanks.

I course them with Irish Wolfhounds. No gun needed. These dogs literally pull them apart on a dead run.

RJG,
Sounds like the way to it, but to many roads and highways to cross around here.

Depends where you are calling them in Ohio.
If your in the wide open areas you would want a 22-250, .243 something along that line.
If your in the thick stuff. A 12 gauge always works nicely.

One of the best coyote hunters I know lives in Ohio.
He uses a .223 and a 12 gauge.
