I never take a gun. Why kill a rabbit and end a good run. Rabbits are hard enough to find and why kill a rabbit today when you can run them tomorrow. I like to carry a hand gun in case I run into a house cat our cayotes and any other thing thats a preditor to rabbits.
keep em runnin your friend in the bluegrass

I went Thanksgiving Day with 5 others with 20s and 12s, all pumps and autos. I had my T/C Contender .410 pistol with 16" barrel, full choke tube and #4 shot. I was the only hunter to harvest a bunny. I can get out into the middle of the thick stuff and literally shoot one at my feet and not tear it up if I'm careful. You guys are WAAAAAAAAY overgunned. Besides, I agree some with DK Steve about killing 'em anyway. Everyone, have a wonderflu holiday.

I have been using my stoeger 20ga SXS with # 6's. I used to use a rem 870 12 ga with 7 1/2's. I like the SXS better for rabbit hunting though. Lighter and shorter.

I have never really messed up that many rabbits with the 12 or 20.

Fausti 12 gauge double barrel over and under. I might miss with the first shot, but I rarely miss both shots. ;)

im partial to the 410guage I collect them. I switch between modle 94 Winchester lever action, over/under 22/410 made by remington, 410/45 called the suvivor, made by NEF. But my all time fun gun 410 is my AK47/410 semiauto it has 2 - four shot clips this gun is made by Saiga, it Russian made. 3inch this gun is a blast to shoot, great range and lite weight. Ican post a pic if you would like to see it.

Rabbit Fever, Is that the 22/410 Remington, the one made by Spartan Gun Works? Nice combination for the money. Well, I took an Model 1100 youth gun w/ short barrel, and put an adult stock on it. Great gun, very light, you can't beat it. I use #6's.

Rabbit Fever, does Winchester still make the 94 in a .410? My son is 8 and I'm considering the Rossi with interchangeable barrels between .410 and .22 LR but I didn't know that there was a lever action available. I'm looking for something that I can sling for him. I'm a hunter ed. instructor and insist on a sling on a long gun for youth for safety purposes. I would be concerned about weight on a 94 as well, and if there is a youth stock available..
