hunting trialing house dog???

I got a 2 month old Beagle on a Sunday. On Monday my wife phoned me & said she thought the pup was dying- horrible noise- then realized she was on a rabbit. She died last May at 15 years- all of them in our house with several other dogs. She would hunt all day if allowed. She hunted up to a week before she died. She had 10 fenced acres to run-winter & summer. She also caught & killed many rabbits but I could stop her cold on command. No field trials etc- a house dog that slept in our bed under the blankets & lived to hunt. We've had many dogs at a time & they all could not live in with us but being in the house was never a problem with those that did.

i have six beagles in the house.my 6 yr old male is a lp rc and placed 2nd at the 03 spring nationals my 3 yr old female only needs 25 points to champion in little pack and just placed in the top 18 out of 144 open dogs at the grand nationals. she is also a grand bench champion.wining best of show at 2 big 5 hunts and 1 state hunt.

These have all been great replies I hope this encourages people who keep thier dogs in the house to try trailing them.
