I saw a request a few weeks ago on one of the threads on here that I thought was a great idea. I cant remember the persons name that came up with the idea but they asked if it was possible to have a seperate forum for folks to post upcoming breedings. I think it would be interesting to see whos breeding what to what and give everyone a chance to ask questions about one or both of the dogs that are being bred.
Whats everyone else think????
If someone else has other ideas feel free to post them here! But remember just because you ask doesnt mean you will receive but if you ask enough eventually Bev will get tired of hearing it and give in!!!!!

I think it would be a great idea, as long as there was a limit to the # of posts you can advertise, because we all know there are a few people that would take up 3 pages of rubish to advertise that they are breeding joe to jane, and would list 120 ancestors behind each one of them.

If this was made as a seperate Forum like the "Trading post" , "Just Talkin' Dawgs or some of the other Forums that are on this message board you could look at the ones you wanted to and skip the ones that dont interest you. I dont see any reason to limit someone to the number of posts he/she can make. If they are breeding 100 females then I say let them post all 100 of them!! If you dont like it dont read it!!!!!!

I agree, that would be a good forum. You could find out what bloodlines cross well, find out about pups parents before born. It would be hard to sort out the crap, as some will list amazing qualities of there dogs when it couldnt be any farther from the truth in an attempt to sell pups. Will make for interesting reading though.

I think it would be nice, too, but it sounds like I'd have to integrate a software program into the website to do it. If I created a separate forum "Upcoming Litters" and asked that folks limit the posts to 3-4 gen. and a description of parents, contact info, due date on litter, price, etc. Would that make folks happy? The idea of making a public "pedigree creator" for pups that aren't born yet bothers me anyway.

I could moderate it so we wouldn't have tangents and debates going on - just info and legitimate Q&A about the upcoming litters - no other topics for them to get lost among.

Let's give this topic a day or two for feedback from visitors and if enough are for it, I can set a new forum up in a few seconds.

sounds like it would work good to me, but would need to be moderated pretty good, and limits would have to be put in place. But I say go for it Bev. I will just make the best beagle site even better
