A general forum for the discussion of hunting with beagles, guns, clothing and other equipment and just talking dawgs! (Tall tales on hunting allowed, but remember, first liar doesn't stand a chance)
Does anybody feed this food? If so, how do you like it and how does it compare in price to other quality feeds? You can't open a beagle mag without seeing a full color, full page add for the stuff. Just wondering how it stacks up against the rest.
Bob, great question, I have been trying to find info on them to, but haven't had much luck, I figure with all the money they are spending on advertising, they might be interested in helping with the kids at Youth Beagle Camp. I am gonna make some calls tomorrow to see what I can find out. You cant even contact them through their website, you have to go to their manufacturing page of sunshine mills, it say its under constuction. But the site shows all kinds of pet food.
I feed Sportsman Pride dog food. I fed it for years when I had Feist squirrel dogs. They were very picky eaters and it was the only thing that would keep them in hunting shape. I had gotten away from it for a while but I had two beagles that were loosing weight this winter and looking bad. I bought two bags of 30/20% and in three weeks had to cut their food back. My dogs do good on it with very little clean up.
Go to the sunshine mills web site and click on the Sportsman Pride logo and it will work.
Have feed it for about a year, won about 800 lbs of it last year and dogs really seem to like it. Feed less, less stool to clean up, full of energy. The only problems is finding a dealer close to home. I am a sportsman pride feeder for life.
i switched to it on monday.by friday my sheading problem was gone.dogs seem more energetic and eat less of it.stool is furm and dark.i like it so much im going to start dealing it.
Went to get my first bag of Sportsman Pride, the sales lady said her vet. didnt like it , first ingredient was corn. Its hard to find where I live and she sends me away. Did use Black Gold and its getting hard to find here now. Going to Diamond, everyone has it.
Mohunter, she either told you wrong or it was not Sportsman Pride dog food. The first 4 ingredients is chicken by-product meal, rice, cornmeal and chicken fat.
Diamond the first 4 is=chicken by product meal, whole grain ground corn, wheat flour and chicken fat.
Thanks guys, It looks like it's pretty hard to find in a lot of areas, mine included. The nearest dealer is farther than I want to travel. I'm happy with Kasco, I was just wondering if the Sportsman's Pride was worth all the advertising they do. I fed Diamond for a while, it's a really good feed, but it's a little pricier than Kasco. I get Kasco 26/15 40lbs. for $13.50 and the Diamond Premium Adult 26/18 (I think?) is around $17.00 for 40lbs.
I never had the chance to feed Sprt. Pride due to availability. I have fed Diamond and I am very happy with it. I may try Sprt. Pride if it becomes easier to get. I will always keep an open mind to food.
does any one no of a place in tenn that sales this kind i feed dimoand and like it really well i would be willing to try the othe brand to see for my self?
