Fastest dog from open to grand champion
Moderators: Pike Ridge Beagles, Aaron Bartlett
Jimmie, sorry about your experience with arha. We are, I believe, far enough out into eastern Ky to stay out of the politics a little better than some others closer to the action, I guess. Have you ever run at Elkhorn City or US23? Some fine gentlemen at both. I haven't trialed in over a year myself, but stay in contact with the guys. I know what you mean about missing an old hound. I let Dexter Reffett have my old hound back for a whole dog box full of pups the other day. When I went to Dexter's I knew that was the place for him, though. First place I ever went that had air conditioning for the stud dogs and females with pups. Now I have too many young hounds, and am going to have to get rid of one or two.

Fastest to Grand out
Guys back in 1995 I had a female called Pucka's Lady that was 9 years old at her first trial. She was in 17 hunts and made Grand Champion. Thats 2 First place wins in the open class and 5 in the Chapion class to make Grand. She placed in every trial she was in.

Johnny Williams, a former member of the Elkhorn CIty Beagle Club, had a grade male that was 8 yr. old named Lefty. In ARHA LP, Lefty finished as rabbit champion in 3 hunts, I believe with at least 2 firsts and I think 1 second. He then went on that fall to win 5 in a row at the Pike County, Elkhorn CIty, Phelps and Salyersville (in Magoffin CO.) clubs for grand. This was about 5 yr. ago in eastern Ky. He ran against some very good competition. Johnny didn't want to run against any of Lefty's offspring so he was bred only a couple of times, and his bloodline will probably die out. He was a tough hound.
Another message:
A dog named "Cody's Sharp Mikie" was supposed to finished out within a year's time between 1990 and 1991 and believed to be from southern Indiana. I remember hearing about this dog and I believe he went on to win several big trials in his career. Anyone got more to add to this dog? Unknown owner and champion offspring, I'm sure he is gone by now.
Ha Jimmie,
Was this dog a brother to Cody's Sharp Jackson?

Jimmie,
Thanks for the information on Cody's Sharp Mikie, I guess that's why you had trouble with Jackson's papers!!!!
Here's another dog given to me on pm: A dog named "Tank" finished out between 1997 and 1998 in arha pp pack. Over 25 first place wins in pp pack and also a akc champion with at least 10 first place wins in akc, sounds like a stud dog to me!!!!! Arha pp grand champion and akc champion by 1999. Believed to be owned by Dan Brinsky, unknown state and unknown if still alive, I have never heard about this dog before. Maybe someone else knows more about this dog.
Keep them coming to me, if you don't want to tell about your dog, I will. thanks

You are talking about Brinsky's run em over Tank, I believe he is still alive, but I don't know if they are still studding him out or not. I believe he is also a champion in UKC.

db215,
Dream Boat made Champion in 6 trials. I certified him to Champion March 10, 2002. 12 hunts later in the Champion class he was ready to certify for Grand. I chose to keep him in the Champion class the rest of the year and run for HOY. From Sept 29th 2002 to the end of the year Dream Boat took 1st or 2nd in every hunt I put him in but two and 3 of those hunts were State hunts and one was a Big Five. He certified for Grand 12-29-02. That made him High Point HOY and he went on to win the HOY runoff in March of 2003.
I believe I put him in 3 hunts in 2003 and he took 3rd at a Big Five hunt and 1st at a club hunt and 1st at a state hunt. In 2004 I put him in 3 hunts and he took 3rd at a state hunt 2nd at a club hunt and 1st at the Everett Morgan Classic witch is the most memoriable victory for me when it comes to Dream Boat. It was the last hunt he was entered in before he died.
He had over 100 pts toward Competition Hall Of Fame (a dog needs 50pts to get in)
He is 2/3's of the way towards going into the Reproducer Hall Of Fame.
