I have two Boldstroke hounds. One is a son of Rebel and the other is a son of Musket. Both have plenty of mouth. Rebels son has speed, decent line control but lacks a little on drive. Muskets son has the drive and control but lacks a little on speed. Rebel's opened on his first rabbit at 41/2 months, Musket's at @10 MONTHS. Both are quality hounds and are staying here. I run them with my third hound which is Branko bred. The branko hound has just a little more speed, but he is 4 yrs old versus the Boldstrokes which are not yet 2. They can hunt together well. I am not overly impressed with my boldstrokes nor am I the least bit dissappointed, they are quality hounds.......not perfect.....but then again that one has yet to be born. Phil
MD, I haven't looked at the papers lately. I will though. My male out of Rebel mother was Little Star, but let me check to be sure, The other came from Paul out of a cross with Musket and I can't remember the mothers name. I pretty sure that Musket is somewhere on the top and bottom of both my hounds. Like I said I'lll check and reply.

What I Know!
I was lucky enough to get a Boldstroke puppy from Bruce L. in New Jersey who in turn got them from Mark in NC. At 4 months of age he was bawling on wild rabbit. No starting pen or no tame rabbit. At less than 6 months of age he ran and circled his own rabbit before he saw what one looked like. I wouldn't trade him for anything. Thanks Mark for even making the effort by improving the Beagling world by take your hard earned time and money and producing some great Dogs!! Mitch Klein
