just wondering????
i just got my first beagle she is 14 weeks old and is eating her poop was just wondering if she will grow out of this, or if i should do something about it. She is outside in a kennel and when i go out and let her out i tell her no and she stops but when im not there im sure she is eating it.

It's a lot more common than you think.
Some people think it's due to some sort of nutritional deficiency in some cases, so you may want to try a "better" food. Also, it may be her way of "cleaning-up" her home. Some dogs just seem to flat-out enjoy it, or at least would rather ingest it than be hungry. For most dogs, it probably stemmed from their mother, who may have cleaned-up around the litter box. She may grow out of it.
You can buy tablets that are supposed to make the stool horrible to the taste, but I don't know how well they work, and there's no guarantee the dog won't start-up again once you run out of tables. I've heard of adding either meat tenderizer or canned pineapple to the food, too, but I know someone who tried those and didn't have success. You can also put something like pepper spray on the stools in the yard in the hopes that one bad experience would "cure" her, but then she may be able to differentiate between peppered and unpeppered stools.

ah, the poop eating probelm. my dogs like frozen poop but not soft! are you in the arctic zone across North America? young dogs seem to eat more than older dogs. some dogs eat poop all their lives. best solution is to clean up as often as possible and hope she outgrows it. wait til she finds cat and rabbit poop, they are definitely a delicacy to the refined beagle palate. even using the ecollar doesn't seem to provide much of a deterent. good luck
