black and tan beagles

Post by Big Dog »

I have a bunch of black and tans and I will tell you that there is no such thing as a completely black and tan beagle, they all have some white somewhere whether it is on their feet, under their chin, or on their chest. I would consider all of the dogs that placed to be black and tan and not tri colored. On the AKC paperwork they may be listed as Black, Tan and white but most run of the mill beaglers will call a dog that is mostly black and tan, just that "Black and tan".

I agree with big dog. White toes and chest are very common on Black and Tans. As long as the white doesn't travel up the legs I would consider them Black and Tans.

Congrats to everybody who placed in this round! Gonna lock the thread on a good note.
