e-collar /bealger XL and the cold

Post by ant »

it seems to be a problem with the collar's light blinking (as if it needed to be charged) when it's cold.

what do you guys do about it?

the cold drains the batteries on ecollars very quickly so if your light is blinking, you need to charge. in summer my collars last a couple of weeks with daily use. in this awful cold the collars last only a couple of days. unless your beagles are as well behaved as mine, charge your collars every time you use them. we are running without collars at the moment and hounds are listening and following direction really well. has taken 3 years to get to that point though. check with supplier to verify re battery charging.

It's just the cold zapping the Batts

If you put the collers in the truck while your driving instead of the dog box you will get some extra time out of them.

Also for a quick fix put the coller on top of the dash in your truck and crank the defroster you'll warm it right up and get some extra time out of it.

Nothin else you can do when it's this cold.. except pray for warm weather :)
