Single nut

Know a guy that has a pretty decent male hound for sale.The only problem I have with him is that only one nut dropped.He is about 1 year old.Someone told me that this could cause cancer in years to come if not removed.Another guy told me he had one that lived to 12 years but was infertile.Anyone else ever have this?

How would getting him fixed effect his hunting ability?Never hunted with a fixed dog.

All my dogs were fixed and were hunting dogs. I had never planned to breed, and couldn't stand the males behavior (hunting, stopping to pee on EVERY tree, and the constant sniffing and humping)
Getting them fixed didn't hurt their hunting ability at all. I think if anything it improved them, they could "concentrate" on other things than if the neighbors dog was in heat.
Taking testicles off shouldn't affect his nose.

neutering won't affect the dogs ability to hunt or run a rabbit just his ability to reproduce. and it would have a bearing on the price of a dog i was purchasing unless i really enjoyed how the dog ran a rabbit. best of luck!
