Steve,
I have seen a few old fellas that could not get around in the woods as well as they used to and they have and use these tapes. Don`t tell me your getting old Steve. I watched you judge at a few trials and you can run faster in a pair of rubber boot then Ben Johnson could on steriods
I used to run bells on my dogs to keep track of them. Only problem, they couldn't keep track of me. These were young dog and I lost them for two days. I think since beagle are always on the move and the constant jingle they couldn't hear me calling for them. The wind came up and I couldn't hear them. Haven't used bells since. Although, if I worried about a novice shooting my dog I'd use a bell in a second.
i run bells on my hounds the year around, mostly because it helps me keep up with them as i cant hear that well, only time i take the bells off is if im running in a trial n they call the bell a locator as for the yotes i have had 2 beagles attacked while wearing bells the best way i found to deter the yotes is if ya hear one start to howl i just fire one pistol shot n thats all the yotes need to get the hell out of the aera n that works real for me we were running other nite n the yotes opened up n a buddy fired his pistol one time never heard the yotes again one thing i have noticed with my pack of hounds is sometimes they will listen for the other hounds bells to see where they are dont know if thats a problem for anyone but it shure dont bother me jb
knew a fella that put bells on his coyote dogs. now let them kill a few yote and the rest get afraid of bells. Then put 'em on beagles and the yote's will stay clear.
