Worming Bitch in Whelp

Post by SilverBullet »

I wormed my bitch with piperzaine about a week or two before she caem into heat. She's now 5 weeks in and seems to have been reinfested with worms again (she had them bad as a pup). What is safe to worm her with that I can get over the counter? And where can I find it? Thanks very, very much!

Pyrantel Pamoate is a good choice, and the ivomec should wait until she's no longer nursing pups. If you've used the ivomec before, OK, if not be sure to have a heartworm test run at the vets ofice before giving it.
I've used ivomec for 8 years, on several breeds without problems.
Do NOT give it to collie or collie blooded dogs, however, they can't tolerate it and it has killed several..
