Maine 2016

Post by Smoke'n Mack »

I posted this over on the Hunted hare board but thought a few folks that don't visit that board might enjoy checking out the video we made of our Maine trip last week. I'm not real active on here anymore but like to share this every year. We had a great year and ended with some tired hounds.

My wife, son, and I just got back from Maine about 10 days ago. We had great runs and had a very enjoyable time. We were there tent camping for about 2 weeks. We also had successful hunts on partridge. Seemed to be a lot of hare and birds.

I am assuming you mean grouse as to the partridge comment...if you took Spruce grouse that is not a legal bird....not questioning you just helping.

Nice video!

The guys we hunt with don't refer to partridge as grouse. In Ohio, we call them grouse. It's the same bird. Yes, I know sprucey's are illegal.

Yeah, all the "Maine-ah's" refer to them as partridge, not grouse, regardless of whether they are talking about ruffed or spruce.
