blue barry
If you are talking about IFC Maravic's blue barry I have a 4yr. old bitch from him.Never got to see him run but if he is anything like my blue bonnie, man i'll tell you what.I'm not the type to brag on my dogs but she is a pretty fine all around hound.
Ferrell Smith was studding this dog at his house for a year and half. Barry is now up north with his owner. I was told Blue Barry was fast with extreme hunt and desire.I have four puppies off Maravic Blue Barry, from four different dams. A paycheck line, northway line, lumberjack line and nothern tracker line. from 3 months to 5 months old. I can't wait to get them all started.

blue berry
i know people say how fast they are and how good they hunt but i would like to know how they would be in extreme cold, i'd like to hear from some people htat have used them in below zero temps. if they have the brains to slow down a notch to stay on the line or if they have a good enough nose they don't have to but i doubt that. let me know if anyone knows anything about there nose.

I have a Barry male pup that is almost 6 mos. old now he is Maravic's Blue Barry X Tackett's Power Girl (linebred Northway) and he is showing me some good stuff for his age in my pen. He is what I consider med./fast and I have been making it a point to work him as much as I can in cold, windy, snowy weather. He was having a little trouble holding the line so I put one of my slower 1 year old females in with him last Saturday. It was a windy day in the low 20's. And it didn't take him very long to learn from her to ease up a little and figure it out.Them two pounded a rabbit for over an hour when he finally caught it. (a wild cotton tail) By the time I got to them they each had their own half layin' there gnawin' on it..lol..he seemed right proud of himself, and I was too, needless to say.But what surprised me is he picked his half up and brought it right to me and laid it down and started waggin' and jumpin' up on me, so maybe he's gonna be a retriever too. That would be great as I have never had the pleasure of having one of those hounds. The female came to me too, but she kept her prize a little out of my reach..lol..Now I'm not tryin' to brag him up but you asked and I'm just tellin' ya how my Barry pup is doin'. But he's real young yet so only time will tell how he turns out but it's lookin' good so far. Good luck, CHH
Blue Barry is NOT an IFC. He is a 2 time National Large Pack Champion and AKC Field Champion. I had him here at my house and watched him run a few years ago. His owner is Bill McLaren from Mass. He has extreme hunt, desire, and speed dominant traits his sire threw. Big chop mouth used right. Watched him run a half grown cottontail in 90 degree heat like he was looking at it. I would say above average nose. Bill hunted him a ton when he was in his prime.

Please do not jump all over me for this post. I am not trying to start a war or cause trouble.
Farbers Indian Outlaw (NinjaxStonehedge Nifty Girl)
I have been doing alot of research on these two dogs and in my opinion there is not alot of difference as both are outstanding dogs and both direct sons of the great Ninja. I have decided to breed my female to Outlaw. The reason for my decision is that I feel that Outlaw's dam Nifty Girl was a much better producer and that Outlaw is probably a better dog in very extreme conditions. I want a couple of pups that will be excellent rabbit dogs and can handle the crazy midwest weather. I don't have a thing bad to say about Barry. I have researched both dogs and feel that Outlaw is just better. (THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION)
