brush busters

Post by billy boy »

would like to know if anyone has any opinions for the best dogs or bloodlines that tear up the thick brush and briars ? the ones that will hit it automatically without having to put them in it.

I am going to say something that some may disagree with....not the first time....lol.

I believe there ARE lines with more inborn hunt...I believe there are lines with more tracking skills....just as some lines represent bigger dogs....slower dogs...and faster dogs.....etc..etc.

What I am going to say next is what I believe....you don't have to agree or disagree...HUNT is DOG specific.....the desire they possess is in them... and in some that desire is limitless...others average.....others don't have it.

I have yet to see a "line" that shows extreme jump dog hunt in every dog.....some show good hunt...but most to me are average....I AM INCLUDING the dogs I own as well.
Some hunt really well, some average, some end up culls.....it is the sample size you evaluate as to whether you get the best hunt and overall package you want........I have seen personally a dog show more hunt with maturation and ground time....I expect this and it doesn't always happen.

This will probably get picked apart, but I have seen it personally....the dogs desire most determines there effort level.....you can put them all in a crap load of rabbits and they all "HUNT" and jump rabbits...that just makes sense....BUT the days where you jump one or two and that same dog finds it ARE RARE hounds...you got one...ENJOY IT!!

The dogs I have seen hard hunting dogs come from were...in no particular order....Mt. Ash Dino, Mt. State Blue Bud, Green Bay Butkus, Green Bay Shooter, Haunted Hill Shaker, Green Bay Paw King.....of these dogs I have seen JUMP DOGS from all of them......in mass quantities...NO.....but they have thrown a few jump dogs.

Good luck!!!

I thought of others...lol...that I have personally seen throw a jump dog.

Murrays Beethoven, Talkabout Blue Jasper, Levee Road Junie...

Again I believe if you don't evaluate many it makes it tough....
