Garmin alpha tt 15 collar

Post by Jonboy »

One of my collars will work fine as long as the dog is within 200 yards when they get out any more only that one collar will freeze on the distance the dog may come back in and the collar may say he is 300 yards out. When that happens i tried to reset the collar it will reset the miles you put on the dog but it will say he is still 300 yards away the only way I can fix it is to turn collar off and on and it start working fine Garmin was great they had to mail me a new hand held 2 months after i bought it now more trouble I see this is never ending have you guys had this problem. thank you Jonathan Collins By the way collar is only 42 days old my luck

Just a thought but are you tracking collars or other handhelds that aren't on the hunt with you? I had one of my collars do exact same thing but realized I was still tracking a friends collar and handheld that lives in another state. I stopped tracking his handheld and collar and haven't had any issue since.

I don't have a Alpha but an Astro with DC40 collars. The 200 yds of losing connection meant the antenna on DC40 was broke. I don't know if it is the same with the tt15, but maybe something to check.

I had the antenna on my tt10 collar break and that is exactly what was happening.
