Need a few Red Star chickens running loose around or in pens. They love ticks and it adds protein to their eggs. No roosters though.

Ticks are bad Here in N KY & SW Ohio. We just Back from Aldie Virginia and had a bunch there too. I think Ya just got Lucky or your Pack ran So fast The Ticks couldn't Latch on.

Ticks had been thin around here in the cool wet weather but now things dried out and the heat is on they coming out pretty heavy.
