He had 3 hounds that he did well in ARHA. Bucky got 2 in the World Hunt, Dolly won the Little World and Sage was just a good all around hound. Re: Fellow Beagler Passed Away Jr. Eades
Oddly enough the General crossed my mind just the other day. My thoughts of him was never getting out of a jog while running a pack in indiana. I didnt at that time know him and remember at the stake post shaking my head and thinking i dont have a chance with this old man. My friend wayne waits assured me i would get a fair shake and that i did. Later that afternoon i had a oppurtunity to spend some time and carve a relationship with him. Old he was however he knew dogs and actually could score a pack from afar. Fred Bach keep daring him to jump into a lake that day and i just listened, general told him to put his money where his mouth was and a 100 dollar bill was offered. I just remember it was awfully cold that day, didnt stop the general he took a running jump into the fridgit waters. I laughed and handed him my jacket and thought what a tough old sob! Jay and Wendall Painter ensued telling him how darn crazy he was. The last hunt i attended i ran into ron and ask he said he was just getting old he said. So many of the guys that i can remember have moved on, I often wonder what heaven is like and do we get a chance to run hounds of yesterday? The general at that time told me my dog was a swinger he didnt like him much. Grch hof Codys Sharps Jackson. When he was judging and i showed at the stake he always told me too tie a block to Jackson Azz, just so he could keep up. Then he would cuss the dog and then me and then always wanted to know how i was getting along ... At that time i was a big of a handful as Jackson. He told wayne once to tie a block too my Azz so i would slow down some. Always took time for a dumb azz kid... Thanks General. Enjoy your time with the rest of the legends, as you so deserve it. Jimmie Abshire. Aka The Valley.
