Everett Morgan Hounds
I owned a hound once out of Appalachian Mt. Jay....He had excellent hunt, medium speed, handled decent but he was only 8 months old when I had him....I eventually sold him back to Everett because he was a little too slow for my pack. He probably still owns him as he was one of Jay's last litters....Most of Everett's hounds now are bred to Lizard Creek Happy Jack and Davis Bo III....Some people claim that Jack is as solid as Davis Bo. He probably is or Everett wouldn't be breeding him so much...He owns a dog out of Davis Bo III named Appalachian Mt. Sherlock that is supposed to be the best dog that he has ever owned...All of his dogs are bred for medium speed gun dogs or progessive pack style trial dogs....He sells dogs all over the country with repeat buyers, he must be doing something right. He is one of nicest beagler that I have ever met. He definately knows his hounds. I would recommend his hounds if you are looking for medium speed gun-dogs....

thanks james. im really thinking about slowing my dogs down been hunting over some nice medium speed hounds lately and i like it alot better now im not saying there slow there medium speed i have some fast dogs but seems like where haveing better races and killing more rabbits. my faster hounds hunt a place out to quick can take the medium speed dogs out and they really take there time and get into everything i like that and they don't take long to get a rabbit around to ya we had 5 good racese the other day in about 2 hours i don't think thats half bad.

I would go with something out of Davis Bo III. Bo has more hunt than the Happy Jack dog. I've seen both dogs run.
Mr. Morgan always liked Cotton Country Blue Eagle, he always put the HUNT in his pups.
good luck,

hounds
Any true gun hunter owns medium speed hounds, in my opinion....I agree with you 100% on killing more rabbits with those style hounds....I had one extremely fast male two years ago and he blew up a lot of my races, killed 33 rabbits that year....Traded him off to a medium speed male the next year and killed 69...Lot better races!!!! Hope you find that special hound!!!!
