Hi
I am not against your pictures just so you know. But 2 guys from Michigan are getting charged for coyote video they posted and can get 4/6 years for it. Even if they dont get convicted they will spend a pile of money.

On another note I just noticed you are from Sheridan and my Dad was from there small world. My name is Richard Bailey my dad Ralph Bailey his dad Granville Richard Bailey and my dads mother was Grayce Meyers from Boxley. I tried to send you a pm but it would not go through for some reason.

A reply from someone who's seemingly kept track of this.
When this was originally reported in June of last year the writer gleaned 406 comments from almost the same write up. Obvious he is using this to stir emotion and promote his anti hunting agenda but now you know this is old news also.

Guess I was brought up in a different day and age. Thankfully so. If you love the sport of raising and running hounds you better become skilled at public relations and put your best foot forward if you still want to be free casting hounds on both private and public properties in another 10 - 15 years. What you post on social media sites is out of your control once you post it. You may think you can delete it but just as the linked article states copies always seem to be able to be found.

It will be nteresting to see how the accused defend themselves in this case. They pretty much handed the prosecutor a slam dunk.

The posting of this stuff on websites is out of control. As you will see I warned mr Johnson in the other post because posting coyote bayup and fighting pictures will ruin this sport. All of us coyote hunters are going to take a black eye because of this nit wit that posted this video and ran one down with his truck. There are no excuses. Be as proud as you want of the kills and post them all you want. When walking into a bayup leave the phone in the truck!!!

Smitty, I agree with you 100% and folks must realize that the good ole days are long past gone. I used to laugh at my dad, uncles and grand dad's talking at the table about how the times have changed for them. I have experienced it in just my days after them. I have said long ago that hunting will be a sport that will only be able to be done on public land or on land one owns themselves which is coming to pass right now. I have also seen what these animal cruelty people can do even when they sneak into our meat and poultry production plants and film what goes on. They can add any narrative they so desire BUT truth is what they tell is the truth many times. This mass media thingie has opened the door to air much of what was always behind the scenes and if one takes into consideration how chicken fighting and dog fighting were once as prevalent as a football or basketball game to now when folks are spending time in prison for it, they should realize times have already changed. It will be interesting to see how this case pans out BUT I'm going to go out on a limb and say they will be found guilty of cruelty to animals because of wounding it and NOT humanely putting it down. Heck these animal cruelty people get charges filed in our food production plants where Human handling is enforced daily but they get into trouble for using a cattle prod to get one to get up and or move.

The guy in the video has no common sense to begin with not only did he admit to wounding it but he was dumb enough to post the video, I won't post video and I have taken down the bay up pics, but I still feel we are the weaker group allowing Peta yuppies to Control what we share with other hunters, complete bull sh!t, we as hunters need to grow a sack and stand up just like the tree huggers do for there's if we fought as hard as they do we might actually not be worried about losing our hunting rights and I will say this I will use dogs to chase game whether someone likes it or not!!! We as hunters as hard as someone people think they are, are actually weak as can be!!!

I would much rather be a weak hound hunter enjoying my sport then a big sacked hunter showing off the wrong pictures and having the sport I love taken away. Enjoy a nice clean tailgate picture as much as anything else. John we both know there are more secure place's to post the other pictures but that is still no guarantee. The picture of your boy on the tailgate was as good as it gets and better then the rest.

To win a fight you have to be at least as smart as the opponent. You also have to have resources that enable you to fight. When we post images or video such as what was referred to in the link Smitty 123 refered to we give the opponent propaganda to use against us. This is not a bar room brawl or fight in someones back yard. Our opponents have deep pockets filled with money, well educated attorneys and will use everything we give them against us.

If you think this is all a bunch of BS take a few minutes and Google HSUS vs. Maine Bear Hunting with hounds. I belong to a small beagle club in VT. Houndsmen from the state of Maine came looking for financial help from us in 2014 to fight the HSUS' add campaign to outlaw bear hunting in Maine. Incidentally, Maine has the highest population of black bear on the east coast. We gave them what we felt we could along with several other beagle clubs in Northern New England and several hunting and hound supply businesses in other parts of the country. Thankfully, the houndsmen and sportsman of Maine narrowly won this battle last Nov. when the HSUS attempted to legislate all forms of bear hunting accept still hunting. Baiting would also have become illegal.

We can blow on with all the bluster and testosterone we can muster but the fact of the matter is when it comes time to fight, our battlefield is going to be in the courts and State Capitals around the country. It's not a matter of if but when. We need to be smart, become skilled at relating to the public and policing ourselves. Slob hunters give the sport of hunting with hounds a bad name. The majority of us who honor the law, respect the game we hunt and honor and respect private land owners will be the biggest losers if we don't understand we live in a different day and time then what it was 30 -40 years ago. Let's do our best to insure our kids and grand kids can still enjoy this sport long after we are gone. Be proud of your hounds and hunting excursions.

Please let wisdom guide who you share your pictures and video with along with the specific details of all that went on. May we all have a bountiful 2015 in and out of the woods!

I know there are more secure places and that's why I didn't post the ones that I keep for myself or the video because I know that can cause problems, I did take the bay pics down and thanks for the compliment on my boy, he sure loves it and enjoys every trip to the woods.
