Garmin alpha collar question

Post by chris83 »

Did any of you guys have problems with your collars being to big for some smaller beagles ? Is there a way to shorten them up ?

Chuck has them. I switched all of mine...no issues even on small 13 inch dogs.

Has has them in all the same colors as well, WITH reflective tape on them, great at night!!

I have six, orange, black, blue, green, red, yellow(use light grey on handheld).

I traded all my tritronics collars for the colored reflective tape ones when I got them. They really show up when your catching hounds in the dark and I like that traffic can see them if they would get on the road at dark.

I use the same collars on mine as well and like them.

That being said you can make your original Garmin collar shorter by removing the rivet furthest from the buckle and trimming the loose flap back. After you do that modification you have what many people send out as the short collar. There is only one way to make the collar smaller and that's to make the receiver sit closer to the buckle.
