Took a coworker and his son on a rabbit hunt

Had another good weekend in the field.

From Saturday's hunt

Me and the hounds leashed up headed back to the truck after a good days hunt.

From sundays hunt. The dogs put on a show for the guys. This was his son's first time rabbit hunting over hounds and my coworkers first time gunning rabbits after 10yrs. Glad to take the both of them out on a rabbit hunt Joeyman style.

Joey;

Do you only shoot run rabbits or do you jump-shoot too?

for the most part we do not jump shoot. There isn't a need for example this past Sunday's hunt, we hunted a thick ditch with bare tilled up ground surrounding it. Ditch could of been 600 yards long and 80ft wide....we put one man on each side and the younger kid was with me at the very end of the ditch that met up to woods. We got 9 rabbits out of it like it was nothing. Dogs ran up and down and the rabbits starting flying out like mice. I killed two at the bottom of the ditch with in 5 seconds of each other. Guns go off very quick and often when you're in that kind of situation. Very often they are strays and you don't know till the dogs just keep going in another direction.

Thanks jude..he said it was the highlight of his vacation time during the holidays. He's a hard worker in the shop welding all day long. We all had alot of fun I enjoyed guiding my hounds for them. His favorite dog was lighting. .seems to always be everyone's favorite little dog.
