PKC Super Stakes

Post by Redtick »

How many of you beagle breeders would like to earn 10% of what the pups you breed win in Super Stakes competition? That means 1 year old beagles running against other 1 year old beagles other breeders have produced. I know with the PKC coonhound Super Stakes, some of the prize money has got as high as around $20,000. 10% of that would be $2000. I think having a contest to see who is the best beagle breeder is a good thing. What do you think?

I'd run it if it were close to me. I'm not in it for the money.

I don't know where you are from but there is probably a PKC affiliated coon club in your area. Get them to sponsor a PKC rabbit hunt.

Did Redtick get unbanned? And he's talking PKC too!! Did the cows come home?

I too would run PKC if they were close to us. I have had a couple chances to go to some that were halfway close to me, but something came up both times and I wasn't able to make it. I'd have to get in and get my feet wet before I started all the other things. I'd love to see the PKC take off in the beagle world. There is a lot of competition though.

Just for the records, I could always post on this board. And, the fellow that was in charge of PKC's Beagle Program is now with AKC and we now get along very well now that he just does coonhounds. Steve is definately not a beagler. I post on the board that Steve manages as well as alot of message boards.
I have always like the concept of PKC and beagles, but, I have never liked having 2 sets of conflicting rules and I aim to seek a change. The PKC membership votes on all rule changes and I only have 1 vote .
I have posted on PKC's board on finding better ways to make PKC beagling more availible to beaglers. Larry Meeks, PKC's CEO, did respond and I feel like there is some things in the works.
There are alot of advantages that PKC offers over other beagle Field Trials, (in my opinion).
There is not much happening on the Prohound message board on the beagling thread. I invite all interested beaglers to check the site out at http://www.prohound.com . You can't eat trophys.

I would but I don't know anyone at the PKC (Coon Hound) club in St. Thomas/Edenville PA. The club house/grounds are also leased out to the AKC club (Mason Dixon Beagle Club). It costs $500 to join as a member there. lol If you know any of the PKC guys there I'd hunt it if they do anything.

You have to be a member of the pkc to post on the message board. I read it but I can't post.

I am like some of the other guys I would like to try it too, but there aren't any all that close to north missouri. I think it would help out the beagle registry alot. ;)

Wow Redtick, welcome back. I didn't think you had the guts to ever come back here. Must be hard to take since you can't post on UKC any more. Having withdrawls?

Flip Flop Flip Flop. What is that? That is Redticks opinion of a beagle program depending on who has him banned from their message board. PKC banned him and all he did was talk about how great UKC was. UKC banned him and now he is preaching the gospel of PKC. When PKC bans him from the board (and they will, give him enough rope and he will hang himself) he may have to resort to promoting ARHA. Then we will have to hear stories on ole Cricket every day. How many firsts did she have dave? Its been weeks since I heard the story, can you please tell it again? Please Dave?

Even though I do not care for UKC's Beagle Director  , I do like UKC beagles and UKC in general. As for PKC's message board, why don't you hold your breath until I am asked to leave?
PKC does need someone to build their beagle program. I do know for a fact that PKC's CEO wants to build and promote PKC's beagle program. I am retired and intend to stay that way but I am willing to help the program any way I can.
As for Cricket, her pups out of my Champion Hunting Beagle Champion Pedde were just weaned last week. She is still bagged down too much to run yet. You can see her get speed and drive points on the video clip posted on my web page.
