Fleas on 3 1/2 week old pups ?
Any safe suggestions ? It has been tough the last few years trying to eradictae fleas from my dirt floor pens. I have a beautiful litter of 6 pups on the ground right now and they have a flea problem.

Frontline spray wont hurt them. Dawn will kill the fleas but wont keep them off.

I threw Hydrated Lime on dirt pens. No fleas or any other bugs. Kills the eggs so can't reproduce.

Thanks for the replies. The hydrated lime is something I will use in the future. I did it a few years ago tou help clean up the soil and never had pests. The vet recomends the Dawn bath an treating the kennel. Never heard of the Head and Shoulders method. May be good. I am a little afraid of the Front Line spray on such young ones.
For the grown dogs I have used Admire at .5 cc on the back of the neck and it is very effective. Not recomended, but an old deer dog man treated alot of hounds with it and never had problems.
