I have found that the Dogtra 202 NCP Gold is the best collar i ever used on young hounds, they are small with a 1/2 mile range with everything you need.
If you need any references on them let me know and i will advise you a list of beaglers using them, a two (2) dog unit runs you around $300.00

I have the same one, and I think it is great. I even talked two of my family members into buying the same thing. the tone button is so important w/puppy training. I like to use it as a come hear command. If its your first collar remember not to over do the shocking. I have seen several weel bread hounds dammaged by over use. Just think you have a Robert Mc Coy and a Robert Hatfield Recommending you the same thing. How could it be bad?lol

One question on the Tri-Tronics. I read where they say the tone has been revised to where it is louder. So if you train your dogs to come to the tone, when you want just one dog to come and you apply the tone, do you end up with ALL the dogs at your feet??? Because they all heard the tone from the one collar go off and they thought it was for them??

Guys I have had my tri-tronics for about 2 years or close to it, I lost the antenna off of it the other day and was using one of the old type metal antenna's and broke the top out of my transmitter, so I sent it in and all 3 collars.
Within a 2 week period I had my unit back and here is what they done.
Replaced 1 collar, they said it didnt check out to their specifications, put new batteries in the other 2 collars and transmitter, and put me a new antenna in with that and at no charge.
So how can you beat that for customer satisfaction.

I believe Dogtra to be the smallest, which means so much to me. Also, for the price, you just can't beat em.

RabbitRodeo, which model of the Dogtra do you have? The question I have with those devices is the size, which you gave an answer to, but also the collar buckle. Depending on the model, it seems the buckle on the Dogtra rides to the side of the neck. Does the weight of this buckle and its position on the neck want to make the whole collar rotate? Whereas looking at Tri-Tronics, the buckle is exactly 180 degrees opposite the receiver, which makes the whole collar more balanced and less apt to want to rotate.
I'd still like to see someone chime in concerning my post above and if the tone brings all the dogs to your feet when just calling one!
