Does genetics really pay off ?

Post by kevinbrent70 »

Im not trying to open a can of worms here just wanting to ask ??? kind of a 2 part ? first of all ive heard so many old timers go on about 3rd generation in your opinion does that hold true ? and if so what side do you see the most chararistics from when you make a cross ? And over all lets say you get a pup from dogs that you've seen run and like what they do OVER ALL are you happy with you pup is it what its parents was style, speed, hunt ? I know to most of you this is basic and a matter of opinion but im just wanting to learn

Well everybody has an opinion so I will give you mine. Yes I think genetics make a big difference, as for the three generation option I like to see either the sire or the dam of the pups I look at show up twice in a three generation pedigree once on the sires side and once on the dams side, one time as there parent and one time as a grandparent. Depends on the pup I am interested in to as whether it be the sire or dam I want to show up.
