Herniated Female

Post by JP Kennels »

I have a six week old female pup that had a lower hernia between her back legs....and was wondering if any of you guys have ever had this problem before????

I was planning on keeping her as a replacement female to breed later on down the road...and wasn't sure if this would affect her ability to have pups. thanks for any information

Sometimes these hernias will go away on their own in a young pup. But sometimes they don't and have to have it fixed by a vet. I had an adult hound with one and had it taken care of by the vet and she has had two litters of pups with no problems. But I have also hear that the hernia may come back during pregnancy.
HOpe this helps.
