The lack of coverage and promotion will be the undoing of NKC in the end.

It's just my opinion but I think when you're at the top of the food chain everyone will take shots at you. I don't see another format putting on a hunt like the world and it going off without a problem. The economy is terrible where I come from and I'm sure it's affecting the numbers.

I hunt and run Lp in ARHA and feel that imo it is the format that fits me the best. I have run in Lp for over 20 years and the relationships that have been developed is what keeps me and others coming back to the trials. Things will always go up and down the shifts of power and responsibilities will always be in question by some but the relationships and good dogs will continue to shine through in the end. I had a guy tell me something that really made sense the other day and it was when in a competitive sport sometimes a man will need to use his filter and remember it is a sport and not life and death. We all want to win and would not go if we did not think we had a dog that didn't have a chance. Good luck to all and I will see you at the next one.

P.S. Did anyone other than myself notice all the young people around the world hunt this year. Pretty cool and anytime you can get whole families involved that is a good thing in this world of crazy events.

We had a great time at the LP World. I have run in most formats and will on occasion still run in a different one but Little Pack is by far my favorite one. Little pack may not be for everyone and that is fine. It does get old to see the same people bashing Little pack on the board all the time. If you don't like it that's fine run something else but that doesn't mean you have to bash it all the time we get it you don't like us we are ok with that!
Shawn I did notice that there were a lot more kids at the hunt this year it is great to see. Very excited about LP starting a youth program as well.

i agree with you ivan if its so bad go somewhere else.i have been friends with and ran dogs with merle crain for 20+ years and ive watched the videos of the by-laws and heard all the stories of everybodys effort they put into getting lp up and going and the rules have been updated and reworded to clear up the gray areas but all in all they are pretty much the same and to listen to these new guys gripe and moan and try and change everything these pioneers worked hard to get established really eats my @#s. arha nkc lp is established it is what it is take it or LEAVE it but dont bash it.if you really care about it and want to help it then go about it in a mature way and choose your words carefully cause when you come off wrong nobody cares what you have to say

Rules get updated all the time in sporting events...to say that rules don't need updated is extremely naive....there are always those looking for the loop holes....20 years ago AROD wouldn't be in trouble....ARHA used to have annual meetings before the world hunt every year to update rules but no more....checks and balances are what out country was based on we are not run by a dictator....and to believe otherwise is un-American...Y would the same not apply to a national sport tht we all love....amendments are made to laws daily....Sorry I've chapped ur Ass

matt, you personaly havent chaped anything i have no problem with any ONE individual but you are right there are loopholes that people find and when they do they must be addressed .its funny how these dogs that we enjoy dont care about anything but getting turned loose to run a rabbit its when you involve humans they turn it into a cut throat game and therefore when things dont go right they look for loopholes because they cant win by the rules that were set before they even knew arha existed thats what irritates me im not saying theres no room for improvement but if the higher ups arent willing to improve it then we as comp.hunters are forced to play by the rules we are given or walk away and ive seen alot of people walk away since 1996 when i started but also understand that 3 diff people have owned arha since i started and several positions have changed hands and it was no better with any one dictator as you say its just simply i own it and i will run it the way i want thats the benefit of owning a registry.with that being said YOU havent chapped me the whole idea of all the controversy is what has chapped me.

Don't like it run something else. Pretty simple to me. Why waste time bashing something you don't even like. To each his or her own :D

Never been to a word hunt. Don t do little pack anymore but I ve have the most respect for the lttle pack. I look at it this way. When Mr morgon came down here in the early 90s to help us get a club going and to see the big enters in the word hunt I was so happy to see that. Thanks Mr Morgon to show you donot have to have a AKC dog to put on a trial and to Rabbit hunt with. From an poor old rabbit hunter.THANKS for all you done for the rabbit hunter.

Matt Marple can i call you that. LOL Watch it Fred does not have very thick skin he will kick your ass to the curb and blow smoke up your ass or just ignore the problems all together. Why your numbers r down lets see. I frank miller would bring at least 15 to 20 dogs to hunt. Mr. Brian Passmore would bring 15 dogs to hunt. Mr. Jeff Hayes would bring another 15 dogs to hunt right there is 45 dogs but Mr. Freddy eliminated all those people or run them away. Either way they r not there. I have said it before and i will say it again the organization does not care about you just your MONEY. Hows the OFFICIAL MEASURERMENT cards doing keeping all the big dogs away. LOL but how many of you fools got one. I call it like i see it please dont get mad at me to all you tree huggers who r not man enough to stand up to the wrongs in your pittiful little sport. It is about the people that r there for the better breading of the hounds. period. And i know that is why i was there the better of the breed and the PROOF is in the PUDDING. So tread lightly Mr. Matt because Fred is a big enough Prick to eliminate you because he is not man enough to fix the real problems in his sport. I am back.

Not sure anyone hates, but sees room for improvement. I personally would like to see the 15 second check cut down, so dogs are rewarded for hound work and not mistakes. IMO there are dogs that do nothing but try to create 15 sec checks which kills the race. Jmo

I still creep around on these boards and read the post that are made, and I must say it was nice to see someone from ARHA post on this thread. It was also nice to see some exact numbers. What was not so nice is an admin of this site as well as some members chastise this man when he agreed some better advertisement would assist in the promotion of this hunt and even admitted he was not a computer savvy man and has limitations to what he can do. Everyone hates the powers that be in any event, refs get boo'd at games ect. So instead of agreeing and asking what if anything can be done to promote this further it went back to the "I smell fish" old beaten down horse comments I have seen on here since I signed up. Give it a rest. It is more productive to work towards a solution than it is to complain about a problem.
