John, I heard it was rough at Eldred. Our snow/ice finally melted off and we got to run on bare ground for the first time since November. I took full advantage of that. It was spectacular. I will be running into you for sure!

Well I have read the post and let me tell you this makes me fill much better. This year was tough for me. Some days the dogs run a rabbit like they were looking at them. Then other days they couldn't even go a full circle. Here in S.C it may be 60 one day and snowing the next. I had a hard time finding rabbits also. All the public land was hunted hard by guys who kill rabbits and as for as myself I only shoot a few.
I saw something this season I have never seen before. In January I saw rabbits not as big as my hand so that tells me they breed all season this year. We also had rain last summer like crazy and I think we lost a lots of baby rabbits by drowning. Our population was down bad this year and everywhere we went coyote poop was everywhere with rabbit hair in it.
