klrconcrete,
I go every chance I can also. I am not looking for any excuses to stay home, just watching the conditions, and trying to learn, and/or figure out what consistantly works, to make good running.
As far as, breed dogs that run great all the time, in all weather, I'm still looking for that combination.
I am sorry if you took me the wrong way. I wasn't trying to be smart.
Happy Hunting

Well, I see I have several out there thinking about the berometer before they go run/hunt. I went out Saturday and Sunday (1/15 1/16 ) here in the Buckeye State and the pressure was 30.63 which is very high. The dogs ran the rabbit great from the jump to the first check. At the first check it took longer than normal for our hounds (3-5 in pack )to grab the check and keep the bunny running. Saturday is not what I would call a great day but just a good day. Now Sunday here in Ohio the pressure fell to 30.48 but very very cold (- 2 with wind chill ) and the dogs really struggled bad.Agian, they ran well from the jump to the first check, had long break downs, wind blowing 10-15 mph. So I guess it is really several things that "could" make it rough on a dog when it comes to weather. Or maybe I need new hounds
. No really I would like to think I have 3 good dogs. I have no problem killing rabbits and no problem placing in trials but I know there is alot of great hounds out there always ready to kick my butt. Thanks for all the responses to my question, thanks and keep them bunnies on the run, Chad24
