Pregnant?

Post by hogbody »

I have a 5 year old gyp that had a litter 3 years ago. I bred her again 45 days ago. She doesn't look to be showing at all. I think she was near the end of her cycle when I had her bred. The male bred her right away the first day. Bred her again the second day and then she wouldn't stand. Should she be showing by now? Is it possible she has a small litter and just isn't showing much yet?

Sounds good to me if they tied that is a sign of a good mating and usually means pups on the way. Give her another week it is right at about the time they start showing.

Other than enlarged nipples, most obvious things start to show the last two weeks of gestation.
If she so readily stood for breeding at the time, chances are good for a litter. I've only had a couple oddities that had to be bred early in the cycle to get pups.
Best of luck...

I have one that Is 42 days and there is no mistaking that she is bred. Usually a thin built dog that I can wrap my two hands around her mid section and touch my thumbs and pointer fingers together . Now her belly is even with her bone. I have ran her up till now and she's not fat. I can usually tell at 40 days. Start to get tits and bigger. Good luck hope she has a nice litter .
