I had posted a couple of posts to Chris on his puppymill board but my post kept getting delete why??? Its not my fault he is promoting puppymills.I just gave my opinion just what he asked for and thats all I gave but I guess it interferred with his cash flow.Take care Dan.

Talk about defamation of character. Dan I respect that you have a right to express your opinion but I don't respect that you state them as facts. What you have stated is not a fact, it is nothing more than your opinion.
Here's my opinion, I'll bet you are one of those guys that complains about everything you don't agree with in life but doesn't stand up and actually do anything about it.
With that being said I have one question for you.....
WHAT'S THE VIEW LIKE FROM THE SIDELINES?

Let me put this in perspective for you. Let say you have two nice hounds 2 only! You work hard to campaign them and both make "FC or IFC" status. You want to raise a litter of pups out of these dogs so you can keep two for yourself and sell the rest. What categorie will theses so called experts brand you to be classified as. (back yard breeder/puppymill) get the picture! Who would you buy your pups from? The guy who has theses two dogs and can tell you what each dog is doing during a chase just by the sound of thier voice(ie. backyard breeder) or will you buy from the guy who has a big facility 20 brood bitches with good pedigrees that haven't even been ran for months (quality breeder or what ever you call it). I'm not causing trouble here i just think things get out of hand. Where do these ego trips come from.
Just another website that says some of the right things to make it look like you're buying from reputable breeders. There are breeders out there who I'd classify as puppy millers who have that "do not support puppy mills" crap on their sites, too.
I don't know how anyone who fits the description of "reputable breeder" would use this website to sell their pups.
The website also mentions health issues but doesn't bother to mention that there are organizations such as OFA that can help certify the health of a dog/line. Either the website author is unaware of this or doesn't mention it because >99% of the breeders who would use this site don't certify their dogs through OFA or any other organization.

Coyote Hunter, it's not your "opinions" in the posts on the board that I am referring to, it's the statement of "puppymill board" that crosses the line (in my opinion).
Other than it doesn't bother me one way or the other if you agree with what he is trying to do.
So you don't like the sidelines huh? What have you done to better the sport of rabbit hunting with Beagles?
"Respectfully"

I have visited this site and read and reread it many times now. I think it is not fair to make statements like it supports "puppy mills" when it clearly takes the exact opposite stand. I do have a problem personaly with a few of the finer points but they are simply a matter of personal opinion. I am a bit confused about one small matter, that being the stand against pet stores in general. Perhaps they should strive to secure puppies from more reputable breeders themselves. Pet stores are to the best of my knowledge points of sale to the public and have little to do with actual breeding practices. It seems to me that a pet store on line is no different than one in a mall or on a corner someplace. Most of my Christmas shopping this year was done online and it was simply a more convenient way to secure the same thing I could get if I was out on the beat. A store is a store to me. I seem to meet all the criteria that is laid out for what is a "responsible breeder" on the site but unless I read things wrong cannot see why it would benefit me, my hounds or a buyer to use such a service. Even if I was in the habit of raising and selling lots of puppies I do not see the financial benefit. When I sell a pup it has been wormed, given shots and is healthy and ready for it's new home. I think if I had to worry about taking to a vet, signing contracts, paying for legal costs if someone gets goofy as people do in this sue happy world, paying a brokers fee, finders fee, etc. I would never sell another pup myself. But thats just me! LOL I like to kep things honest and simple...the simpler the better. Maybe thats why I don't get it....I'm just to simple!

i agree with hillbilly on this. i saw no list of breaders they think are puppy mills.i see no advantage to using this site and i do not sell for pets only hunters or trialers. the prices are about what pet shops sell them for.

Why worry
Looks to me as though you guys are looking for something to worry about .If everybody did their own thing and wasn't so concerned about labeling themselves and everybody else and keep this a fun thing we would all be better off.

I understand what you are saying, I really do, I wasn't knocking your opinion what so ever. Again, it was the puppymill board statement. That's it.

Well Dan, my name is Mark Betts, I reside in Fort Lewis Washington. As for who names their kids goes? Well mine did, since I was a kid they also said, there he GOES with those blankety blank dogs again, Goes just stuck, better than blankety blank some would say.

Here's a little something I have done to help the sport and have done for a number of years, unfortunatley due to health problems I was unable to in 04 but the planning is already underway for 2005. It's called the Youth Beagle Camp. See "Dan" I put up, I am not just a spectator who talks a good game. But hey, it seems like that is working out for you real well, you have haven't damaged anything.
