crap eating dog

well ive heard of those sh*t eating dogs before but i now have one its a 13 week old pup do they do it becouse they are missing somthing in there diet???????

Most vets will tell you that when they are eating their own waste there's something missing. There's some kind of powder or chemical you can get to spread over the the dog food when you feed them. I've been told this substance will keep them from eating their waste. Feel free to ask your vet about it, perhaps he or she may know of it.

Well Good luck getting the pup To stop!!!!!!!!!!! This is called Coprophagia We have 6 and 1 of them does this all the time We have tried Everything in the book and some we were just told about LOL Some work Fine like the No POOP Cookies and Putting Rabbit Feed in thier food Adfolfs meat tendorizor, Sea Kelp, nd they all work as lonfg as you use it every Day!!! As soon as you stop they are back at it!!1 i have broke ours from Doing it with the e Collar Settin her up so to speak She will stop for a week or two then we see or Smell she is back at it.... We have used detur tabs from the vet had her blood checked for vitamin Defeciancys All that and she is fine she id just a recycler!!!!!!
If you can Come up with a cure or fix for this you could make a fortune

I THINK IF A FELLER HAD ABOUT 4 OF THESE DOGS IT WOULD NOT TAKE HIM LONG TO CLEAN HIS KENNEL, A REAL WORK SAVER.

they have pills u can give them for this and when i stopped giving them the pills they didnt go back to it but every dog is different so good luck

We have found that often a pup or dog will do this do to giardia,treat three days in succession with panacur/safeguard and that will rid giardia.The explanation is quite lengthy but will go into detail if interested.

I've never had a beagle that ate their own waste, but many young beagles will eat cat doodle until they mature, and usually it stops.
