This past weekend, we held our first UKC Performance Pack trial. I got the chance to watch the grand cast run, which is was only two dogs. It was 25 degrees and probably 40 mph wind. These two little bitches stroked for the full hour. It was defiantly a sight to see. They seemed to lock on this bunny and drive him. Longest check was probably 30 seconds or less.
Any top performances you have seen in a trial setting with difficult conditions.

Re: Dominating performance?
Watched two evenly matched champs in the final. Winning dog scored 140 and second place was 130. Difference was a minus for not producing. Lots of good solid dog work. This was LP format.

Re: Dominating performance?
He's saying it was a little pack trial.
I've seen a few dominating performances at the trials. Only one on bad conditions though.

Re: Dominating performance?
My bad rabbitfarm... Was thinking you were talking about the same trial as Harner.
Looking forward to the results... Hopefully one of these days I will make a Performance Pack trial.

Re: Dominating performance?
Maybe 15-16 years ago I was judging a cast up in Ky. at an A.R.H.A. Little Pack hunt on a beautiful piece of ground that was leased by Don McCutchen. It was open and rolling with plenty of good cover.
It was the middle of the day and several casts had already been run in there .We were having a tough time getting one up.A ticked up tri-color male jumped and I saw the rabbit go.All dogs were open till the first check and then it was all that male.Like a one dog race.He just grabbed every check that occured. He was so quick and true that he'd have the check and be flying out of there and the others were getting caught looking.
I was able to see the rabbit several times during the race and that male was running him as if he was using lock on radar. As I said, for 50 minutes it was a one dog race as the others were just trying to stay with him and get something but he wasn't leaving them anything.Probably one of the most dominating perormances I've seen where one dog was just so far superior.
I believe the dog was New City Cruiser bred. John New??
