The use of drugs in animal and poultry feeds is the same issue as it is with adding it to animals intended for human consumption. ALL feeds treated with any type of drug such as steroids or antibiotics have the withdrawal times on the bag. What this says is that the animal MUST be kept off of this feed so many days prior to slaughter so as to have it's system cleanse itself of any chemical residue that would be passed on in the consumption of the carcass and or parts. One of the BIG issues is the use of drugs that are of particular use in Humans and one of them that has been abused in the animal feed industry is sulfa drugs. After many years of us eating sulfa drug residues in meat and poultry products we have built up an immunity to it to the point that they are not very effective any longer.BB Beagles wrote:We have a Perdue chicken plant close to us. People that work there have told me that the chicken blood and parts of the inside are contained in a big tank. Perdue sales it to a dog food manufactures. Also the feet are sold to china cause they said the prepare someway and eat them like we eat popcorn. Idk if all this info is correct that's just through the grapevine.
Here's a question though... I do know guys who collect some dead chickens from these chicken farms. Not old, but freshly dead. They use to feed raw. They add steroids to the chicken feed, so would that affect the dog itself?
