Dogs for sale

Post by mybeagles »

I've notices the dogs for sale threat has slowed way down except for the die hard sellers. I wonder if hound evaluation is in progress and we will soon be flooded with the dogs they don't have time to fool with? Maybe will have to wait til mid January when the Christmas shopping credit cards show up....

For sale threat provides the most entertainment, but it hasn't lived up to the hype lately.

As rabbit season comes to an end in most places... you will start to see more and more dogs for sale.

Yup, getting out of dogs, kennel reduction, going to all 15", going to 13". Getting faster or, getting slower. Trade for something that don't eat. A little too much foot for my pack (runs in big frantic circles in a check) little too slow for my pack (runs like it's rolling a peanut with its nose) ton of hunt (runs non stop off the leash bouncing off trees) lacks hunt ( pisses on every bush in sight) a little early opening but always produces the rabbit (pops off like a Chinese firecracker)
Can anyone tell that I'm a cynic about buying off the internet?

One of my favorites is good dog here hate to sell but I'm not doing him justice or due to health can't mess with him, then later on in the add, price reduced sometimes several hundred dollars, got to make room cause they have a litter of pups on the way lol, or you see an add like this then you see later where they are inquiring to buy another dog from another persons add, it can be very entertaining

Don't forget my favorite "$ random price FIRM for sale not on sale. Top notch dog, if he/she don't sell by Friday I'll just keep him/her" That's my favorite one there. When I see the I'll just keep it line I just go ahead and do my part to let 'em stay where they are and move on

My favorite dog jockey line.... "This price off the tailgate" a much "higher price" if you want to watch it run!

I would love to hear testimonials of dogs that were purchased on the Internet that you were totally pleased with! Feel free to give the person you purchased from and what you bought.....don't want any of the bad deals rehashed...we all know many of the sales are rip offs.

To kick things off:

I recently purchased a pup from Butch Sari (Butch)and another from Colebuck and both pups were healthy, socialized, and properly prepared for their new home!

I traded for a champion dog off this site from TBOY/Tim Boyer and he was as described.
I also had 3 other transactions from the board and they all ended very very badly. 2 of the 3 hounds developed sudden bouts of lead poisoning,

Mitch,
Many Times the dogs you want to purchase is 400 miles away it would cost more to go watch the dog run then it would to buy dog and have it shipped with the dog hauler....

No substitute for seeing one run.....

I think some have way to high of expectations for a $300-$600 dog regardless of how it was described. Most of the time guys are sellingr the weakest dog in their kennel. The one that never was fooled with.

I believe the deals that really make people mad are the complete fabrication of what a dog is.....sold as broke dog and it's barely started, extremely spooky or deformed....the obvious culls

I think, that before you buy a dog go see it run. That's not always possible with the distances being what they are and the price of gas. However, EVERYBODY knows somebody who knows the seller. You can find out all you want just by asking guys that you do know and trust if they know so and so who is trying to sell a dog. For instance if I see a dog I gotta have, I ask guys like Crabtree, Troy Lee, Hounddog, Lee Cockman, Lynn Perkins if they know the guy who is selling and can he be trusted? If any one of these guys give the seller a thumbs up then the dog will be as described. If you cant find someone to vouch for the seller, and you buy anyway, and you get burned, shame on YOU.

Steve Mullen, Paul Grabel, Chad Curran, Mike Gibeaut, Tim Ogrady, Joe Kuklenski, Roger Ooten, Lowell Smith, Brandon Labombard.

Just to name a few that I would buy from on WORD alone, cause they tell the truth....LOL.

Just an example: I bought one directly from Joe K. I had a measuring stick from his kennel to reference, but invested large money in this hound.
EXACTLY as described, down to the squall, chop, whistle in her bark....some guys really pay attention to detail.
