Scabs On Her Head....

My female seems to have had the same 3 little circle scab marks on her forehead for awhile.... I have put stuff on them and yet they haven't gone away...

any suggestions?

Jack I have the same problem with 1 of my dogs,I'm useing nu-stock on it and its clearing it up.

This sounds like ringworm, a fungus, keep monistat creme on it or athlete's foot spray; it takes about 8 weeks to cure; it is highly contagious to both dogs and humans. It doesn't have an effect on dog's performance usually.

i have a two year female. she gets the same thing. when i took her to the vet, he said that it comes from fleas that get in the cuts that they get from going thru heavy brush, and the fleas go and get in the cuts for the blood. and it is a infection. that she gets from the fleas. then i ask him why my other dogs don't get the same thing. and he said that this dog is alergic. to the fleas. he told me to give her a peniclin shot and it went away. i will tell you it will come back if you run alot, when there is alot of fleas around i just give her another shot, and put 7-dust. on her. the 7-dust is what keeps the fleas away. If these look like a small round circle, kind of like a burn caused by a cigar and are on ears and top of head, then you have a feed problem. I switch from black gold to high standard last year, two of my hounds got the scabs on ears and head. They take a long time to heal by the way! Vet said hot spots caused by too much protein or bad protein. I switched back to Black Gold, and haven’t had a scab on a dog since.
