Rossi Matched Pair Pistols

Post by JCM »

Has anyone used the Rossi Matched Pair 410/45 & 22 pistols to rabbit hunt? How do you like it?

I had a Comanche and sold it. I just didn't like it--too loud, cheaply made, impossible to hit anything, and kicked like a mule. It was a lot easier to carry though, especially when you usually only shoot a couple times a day.

I have been looking around trying to find a Rossi but haven't found one that I can look at. I hate to order one without actually seeing one first. I would appreciate any and all opinions.

I'm going to order one in the next day or two.

Unfortunately, a few hundred miles separate us...

I'll post a report when mine comes in.

Never did own one read a lot about them most people were well satisfied with them not as good as the TC but half the price. I bought a Judge with a 6 1/2 in.barrel doesn't work well for me but maybe l am just a bad shot.

I couldn't justify the cost of the TC so I went with the Rossi and I think I got my money worth. I removed the pistol sights and bought a piece of aluminum from Lowes. I cut and drilled to it match up with the holes from the front sight I removed and put a shot gun sight on it. Gives me a nice sight picture for a running shot. I am posting a couple of pictures. I don't why the flash discolored the finish. You also get a second .22 barrel.

The front sight.

If anyone has one for sale please shoot me a PM. I have been thinking about getting one, but I would rather buy a used one because its just going to get scratched up in the briars.

Just curious as to why you couldn't hit anything? I have a commanche and love it! I don't shoot many rabbits and it's real easy to carry. I have found that 2.5" 6 shot duplex reloads out shoots factory 3" 6 shot.

You are right for sure!

The sites were off on the Comanche I had (which the guy that bought it figured out). Plus, I just couldn't ever seem to get comfortable with it--maybe the grip.

I have been using the Rossi 410 pistol for most of my shooting this season and have bagged quite a few rabbits with it out to 30 yards. Sure is easy to carry and fun to shoot.

Picked mine up yesterday and shot it today. I will say a bunny at 25 yards should be in a heap of trouble if I do my part.

Wondering if you bought it online (and where) or locally?

I got it at a local gun shop in Erie,pa. The best price around was $335.

I see them in the web for $300 but most ffl dealers charge $50 to receive it so there was no savings.

GM had a used one for $330 so no deal there either. I have found that small local gun shops who have low overhead seem to do best on special order guns. YMMV.
