We have guys that would kill their own mother for a ribbon and trophy now, if there was money involved it would look like a scene from the old west...........

You know I've not been to a PKC hunt and really don't have a desire to. But I don't understand whenever someone puts a post on for their local club and it's a PKC hunt why there is always someone wanting to make a negative comment.

PKC beagles hasn't grown real fast, big deal. But they have been having hunts for a while now and to my knowledge no one has been shot stabbed or seriously bruised while fighting over the prize money.

The assumption that money will automatically bring out nasty crap in people I don't get. I'm sorry but that hasn't been the type of people I've run into so far in the beagle world, sorry if you have.

I think you hit the nail on the head when you said that there are people that get to serious hunting for trophy's and points........they would be the same FEW that would get to serious about hunting for money. By large and far most people are there for the fun of it.

But if you're convinced PKC hunts are bad and won't work out that's perfectly o.k., but you don't have to post it under a thread where someone is trying to promote their local club, just my opinion.

Sorry but I disagree. Money always brings out the worst in people. There is enough cheating going on now for trophies and I can only try to imagine what will happen when you start handing out cash for wins.

Just my opinion but I bet I'm not the only one.

we have had about 7 or 8 pkc hunts and we have had no questions go back to the rules panel !! why is this ?? in pkc if you have a question that you cant work out in the field by voting over the situation you have two put up $ 25.00. why wont people put up the money ?? it is because they know they are wrong and wont even put up the cash !! even though if the panel rules in your favor you get your money back !!

now go to the ukc hunts and the master of hounds usally has one question after another of people trying to streach the rules and people fighting over a ribbon and trophy ??

ill take going to a pkc hunt and if you do good take home around $ 100.00 cash any day . this is not a hard choice !!!!!!!!!!!

hey lonewolf! how's it going man?

I know this subject has been hashed over before..............it's two basic different views, one says that money brings out the worst in people.......the other says good men will remain good, bad men will act like bad men in any format wether it be for money or ribbons or bragging rights or what ever.

I lean more to the second, if you lean more to the first, that's fine, it's o.k. to disagree..............

by point was why would you want to point out what you think is a negative point under someone trying to invite people to hunt at their club?

Start a different thread. If you don't want to go to their hunt, don't respond to this one, that's all.

good day all and God bless.

The last I heard Larry Meeks had turned the beagle program over to a preacher down South somewhere(cant remember his name) so it doesnt sound like it is dead.
Our club held several PKC hunts(hound and hunter) when they first started and we had less questions, crying and argueing than some of the trophy hunts ive been to. The only problem I had with PKC was the rules, they had left a little bit to desire. I voiced my concerns with the rules and was asked to attend the rules committee down in Evansville but I already had prior obligations that I could not get out of so I was unable to attend. I then learned after the rules committee meeting was completed there was NOT 1 single rule changed in the H&H format. I think PKC is a good organization, they just need someone to take it by the horns, make a few changes and I think it would do fine.

I haven't trialed in a while, but always said I wouldn't do it if money was involved. I still remember the first trial I ever won. I smiled for 2 days, and that old trophy still sits in my living room. NO $100 bill could ever replace that trophy!!! Just my opinion
