Ivomec will kill the mites. Another thing we get lax on sometimes is clean dry bedding. A pack master in the uk told me, when we were talking about kenneling,"most don't realize how much care in cleanlyness is conductive to good health in the hounds". I can see where a hound with a skin problem would only be aggravated by wet bedding.

The ivermectin will do the job as mentioned above, but if you do not know the dogs heartworm status you can also dip them in a permethrin dip weekly for 3-4 weeks. And clean/replace all bedding etc as also previously mentioned.
