The greatest moment ever is every time my two kids 5 & 3 years old say "dad let's go run dogs".
And when they yell at my running buddies because they are picking on "their" dog.

I still remember my first cast win ever Hidden Hollow Lady in Coshocton she got 2nd in the hunt at 9 months old we ran 1 1/2hr in the finals because she was tied after the first hour with a 4 year old dog that already had a win. She only lost by a strike.

Winning the Spring Nationals in the Champion Class.

Wow there are many more moments that i will never forget.

Seein the first dog I ever bought to hunt with. I didn't know how to hunt a rabbit. I'd never even jumped one... The dog sure didn't know how to hunt but it was like, "alright buddy, we are gonna learn how to do this, you and me." Took him everywhere with me for 6 straight months and I was 25yrs old :)
God isn't real, Beer is good and people are crazy, there I fixed it.

Last cast world hunt, Sammy Wells was judging the pack was dialed in on a rabbit, with only seconds to go the ck was open. Junie nailed it. We all walked back to the truck and listened as Sammy read it off, My wife Shorty was there with me and it was awfully sweet. That was a great time in my life as well as great hunt. Ya know its stories such as these that made me come back. Winning is very special but the company is even sweeter.
I wasn't there but heard that Junie and Buddy flat put on a show one year :check:

entering a dog in world hunt and not transfering it to my name and merle crains name (co-owned)and making it to the final we were winning cast 45min out of the hour ended up 3rd merle chewed me for months for getting dog tuned up for months and not getting our names in mag.2001 grch meltons penny.or just placing 3 diff dogs in 3 diff classes 3 diff years in little pack woeld hunt.prob most memorable was last years little world hunt in final cast during a hurricane my tom dog jumped a rabbit that ran 50 yds straight to a hole and got a minus the cast was won with 10pts hunting/handling im still sick over it.winning the 2012 ill state/ron crain memorial was special to me because merle and sons have been my friends for years i put alot of hours on that dog trying to accomplish that.every trial i take my boys to is memorable they have to catch ron eades dog for him(he still owes carson a steak for that)
Lprch chasteens j&k Tom terrific(3 wins)
LP dual grch 2012 ill St champ twin pines Bernie
Lprch chasteens holeshot Amy
chasteens holeshot birdy

Having Papaw and all the Canadians with me on the 2009 World Hunt Grand finals with Honey. It was a 4 dog final. 1 dog minused out quick, I was thinking how lucky I was to atleast get 3rd at the World hunt. The dogs hunted another 15 minutes . Honey hunted real good. Papaw was handling her. To my bad luck Honey found me, and decided it was a good time to just hang out with me. That dog loved me. After about 10 minutes of jumping on me wanting petted she went off hunting. I saw her get the happy tail. I told Felicio she was fixin to jump a rabbit. He said what does fixin to mean LOL.! Well she jumped a rabbit and was looking real good, but the Spencer boys Old dog got her by a check with me counting the score in my head. It was very obvious that she jumped a rabbit with 2 judges seeing it, but you never know. It was only about a 20 minute walk back to the truck!!!. I was pulling my hair out wondering if Honey was awarded the Jump or not. When the score was read Honey came out on top as anyone there knew she deserved. .
I sure miss that Ole dog, she sure didn't deserve to die the way that she did, but she was doing what she loved to do.

one of good memory's is my first trip to coon island beagle club.
I met chad cordel and chris wells on this site.
my wife and I was invited down by chris.
we met them at the old club house, he showed us around.
and then some crazy lady named Laura took us out on a cast with her and explained how it all worked.
I sure have met some fine folks and made some good friends at that club.
and I have friends across the country now because of beagling.
I really have been blessed with my dogg'in that's for sure.

watching my first cross excel like they have was a good one aswell.

My old Rambo dog in arha trials from 2000-01
He had a good year, he won in both formats. LP and PP 3 wins each.
Won his first PP State hunt in Oct.
Ruptured 2 disc's in his back in Nov.
Paralyzed, couldn't move hind quarters.
Had risky surgery in December.
Did not pull through surgery, no heart beat, etc.
Unhooked the breathing machine and his heart started to beat!
Told by vet he'd never run, hunt, or breed.
Stretched and rotated his hind legs everyday to regain strength and use.
By summer he could walk and swim.
August he was running rabbits again.
Entered in LP trial in September, one year since beginning of winning streak.
3 casts of champs. Won his first cast and went out and won the hunt!!

Having him make a complete comeback was my greatest moment.
Now at 16 1/2 he just lays in the sun!
