swampman if you new my views off this board we might get along,or we might not. i will say this. i make friends everywhere i go except for these trials. i guess i am too blunt and too the point,wet behind the ears or not i no what a good beagle dose. i guess i should not have did the name calling but you sounded rediculas.

if i am hunting the state land and 2 stray dogs are running with my beagles. infront behind all over the track snow or no snow. i exspect my beagles too keep running the rabbit. if i take 5 pups out with the pup trainer and the pups keep jumping out front f534ING UP THE TRACK . I EXSPECT HER TO POWER THEW IT. BARKING FROM BEHIND. THIS keeps the rabbit going for the pups too jump out front again. IF SHE WONT BARK A TRACK FROM BEHIND SHE WOULD BE NO GOOD TOO ME. CAUSE EVERY TIME THE PUPS JUMP OUT FRONT WHAT YOUR SAYING IS SHE SHOULD SHUT UP AND QUIT RUNNING THE RABBIT TO LOOK FOR THE FRONT..

As far as I know the top producing (by numbers of champions produced) sires and dams are FC River Oaks Archie (as somebody mentioned before) and FC Pearson Creek Countess. As far as producing "gundogs" (meaning large pack, small pack option, gundog brace, etc) that would be FC Short's Pro and his mother FC Short's Kate II.

What is your beef with Better Beagling Magazine? Every month they have a couple interesting articles and interviews. It's a quick resource to see results or trial pics. Maybe I haven't grown up yet but that's one "Comic book" I look forward to getting in the mail every month. During military deployments it was a real lift to read through the mag. Seems to me there are better things to poke at than a beagle magazine.

I spent alot of time wid John Monkman when he was wid us.....He specifically told me da yr da MAN died had 36 pups placing in Canada/USA and only bred 20 ta 25 bitches.... Due ta CKC clubs not advertising in da BB magazine as u must ta be eligible fer BB high sire is da reason da MAN never won it...

Everyone is high on ranger Dan guys he bred hundreds of bitches.

If ya didn't have ta advertise in BB ta be eligible fer da high sire and dam awards... U wld have seen shaker da MAN and Armandos Levi wld have dominated fer years. Ranger Dan wld have struggled ta win da high sire award.. Now fer da Dams Squirrel creek Angie and awful Bawlin hoser and swampsingin cricket wid have dominated da top dams fer yrs also. Pine acres Mollie wld have struggled ta win da top dam. So I don't care what it says in da BB comic book its horse crap ya have ta advertise in it ta win da award. Alot better producers out in dis sport den getting mentioned in dat comic book. Believe what ya guys want facts are facts men. Don't believe every ting ya read in a book.

all and all it was a serious question about the reggie dog. i was told he olny has 6 fc but seen a man saying he was the better beagling top sire 3 years running? i dont now but just dont seem righ olny producing 6 fc. just some ? for the pros you no.

You come across on this board as a guy that knows it all so probably an exercise in futility to try and tell you anything..........
As far as I know besides Better Beagling there are 3 other "rabbit hound"/beagle magazines out there.Hounds & Hunting,The American Beagler and the A.R.H.A. Rabbit Hound.If those mags. cater to the type of hound / trials you are interested in then by all means subscribe to them ! But, as far as informative content,interesting articles, veterinary tips,sponsorship of major beagling events and awards and super good/clear color photos you can't compare to Better Beagling.
I know and consider Bob and Pearl Baker [original founders/publishers ] of Better Beagling and also the current owners/publishers Ralph and Sarah Harrington as friends.I also know them all to be VERY knowledgeable beaglers,trialers and hunters [both Bob and Ralph are licensed A.K.C. field trial judges having judged both Large Pack and S.P.O. trials all over the country ].
As far as I.F.C. Greenwell's Reggie is concerned.Yes it is true that he is B.B. top producing sire for the third year in a row and has been nominated for the B.B. Hall of Fame this year.
Now how about getting back to the topic this post was started about???

The Better Beagling top sire and dam awards are based each year on the sire and dam that had the most PLACING [ not F.C.'s ] hounds in A.K.C. Large Pack,S.P.O. and Gun Dog Brace trials in the U.S.A. that year.These trial results MUST be reported to Better Beagling by the club's field trial secretary by a certain end of year date.Canadian trials are also included IF those trials were advertised to the public through Better Beagling magazine.
This is a Better Beagling award sponsored by the magazines and the owners.It is NOT a A.K.C. or any other type of award and I have no problem with them stipulating that if you want to be in the running for this award than pay for the advertising to let ALL folks know about your trial.What's the deal about having a trial in Canada and a lot of folks don't even know about it happening?
I live in the U.S.A and where do I see these trials advertised? I don't.Don't they want the competition to come? If you want to be included then you should advertise so ALL folks know.JMHO as always
