Club Insurance

Post by chris1971 »

I am in the process of try to locate a provider for insurance for the new Four Rivers Beagle Club in Western Kentucky. I would like to know where some of the other clubs get their insurance and about how much you are sending on it. This will help me try to find the most competitive price for us. Thanks in advace to all.

Only organization that requires the club to pay for insurance WHY u can never get a claim if you hurt yourself. Its a liability policy that only protecets the organization not you the houndsman. So again why does the clubs have to pay for this. Just asking.

should be self explanatory-- The organization isn't going to risk going bankrupt because some club does something stupid. And also it does help the houndsman in a way.

Example: You walk into the hunting building and the roof caves in on you or someone tells you that you can't compete because you are in a wheelchair or something...

When you sue (if that's your thing and think you need to do it.) you don't have to go through nearly the same legal cost as going through the company directly. The insurance company will pay off well before to organization ever would.

Please do not do this to my thread. I am asking for some help to find insurance not a debate. This is getting real old where people are hijacking threads so they can rant. If you have some suggestions on where i can get help finding the insurance please let me know. If not that is ok too, if you have an issue with something I said you can call me. Chris I am a insurance agent so I hope this helps, just call several insurance companies to get quotes most should have a company that provides coverage for your needs. They will gather information on the clubs needs and will inquire on things like if fire arms are present or any other exposurers. They will also determine who owns the property or if you lease the land etc. Its not that hard just a couple of phone calls and you should be own your way. Your in a different state so I can not guess what it would cost you a year but a couple hundred dollars would be my guess. Good luck. There are some outdoor outfits that provide this coverage Google it.

Our club ,Erie Canal, carries a policy through NKC to cover people at hunts. We were approached by some AKC folks who wanted us to host a UBGF trial and they said we would need a policy through AKC, I checked into getting a policy from a third party that would cover both and found it was cheaper to use the organizations insurance . We so carry a separate policy much like a homeowners on our property and building.

What i am running into is that the NKC is just for sanctioned hunts so there is no coverage for anything else like if we did a fun hunt for kids or Club picnic. We do not own the property so we need something to cover those things. I can get a policy through my local Farm Bureau but it is $850 a year. I tried to get the same policy that Glen Wrights club has but they no longer write that policy but they Grandfather them in since they have had it for years. Someone said try i believe it was American Beagle Association?? This is a new one on me, has anyone else heard of this? Thanks
